10 Things I’m Thankful For: Toy Edition

Today is that wonderful American holiday of Thanksgiving (Useless Fact: Canadians have Thanksgiving in October). In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I decided to share what I’m thankful for in the world of toys. If you manage to sneak away from your obnoxious relatives, now you’ll have something to take your mind off of the insanity for a few brief moments.

1. Hasbro. The fine folks at Hasbro have provided me with plenty of reasons to be thankful over the years, most notably in the area or the Holy Triad of toys: G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Star Wars. I’d probably be collecting stamps if it wasn’t for Hasbro. Shudder.

2. Toys R Us: I love Toys R Us. Thanks for carrying the Real American Hero G.I. Joes and tons of cool exclusives. You rock, now order some new damn Justice League Unlimited figures.

3. The U.S. Postal Service: I’m thankful for USPS for not losing my huge and somewhat valuable shipment of Heroclix that I sent across country to myself. Also for them delivering all of my online toy purchases without a hitch.

4. Bratz Dolls: I’m thankful for Bratz dolls, because they teach little girls that its okay to grow up to be a slutty alien if they want to be.

5. eBay: Thank you eBay for letting me unloading junk I no longer want and having things that I can’t get anywhere else. Someday that Starcom Starmax Bomber will be mine!

6. The Japanese: Where would we be without the Japanese and their obsession with giant robots and breasts? In a sad and bitter place.

7. The Chinese: Thank you China for producing such wonderful toys for us. Sorry about the communism.

8. Kids: I hate kids most of the time, but I thank them for still having an interest in Star Wars. Without them to support the line, it wouldn’t be what it is today. Now if they’d stop liking Naruto so it would die, I’d be really thankful.

9. 451 Press: For taking a chance on me and letting me run my own toy collecting blog right into the ground… I mean, to unparalleled success!

10. The Toy Bender readers: Don’t get all emotional on me now, but I’m thankful for every single one of my readers. Without you guys I’d just be wasting my time here… sniff… No, I’m not crying!
