25th Anniversary G.I. Joe Army Builders

Toy News International has the new G.I. Joe army builder five packs which will be in Toys R Us stores exclusively… or on eBay. There are two sets, the Night Force Cobra Troopers 5-pack and Snake-Eyes with 4 Red Ninjas.

The Night Force Cobra Troopers are pretty cool and I like the idea behind the Snake-Eyes pack, but I’m not sure how many red ninjas I’m going to need in total. Any movie will show you that the problem with ninjas is that there deadly skills decrease exponentially the more that there are. Whereas one ninja will flip out and kill an entire battalion of regular soldiers, an army of ninjas will become nothing but cannon fodder for one skilled martial arts warrior. Think about Uma Thurman and the Crazy 88, perhaps if they were the crazy three they might have faired a little better. Also, the Snake-Eyes is okay but the only thing I can spot that is different about him is that he has camouflage pants.

I’d also like to take a moment and bitch about the Toys R Us stores in my area, especially the one that I regularly visit. The only 25th Anniversary Joes I’ve ever seen there is one battered Cobra five pack. There aren’t even hooks for the single carded figures yet. Toys R Us in the East Bay of California, you’re on my S list along with all of the Wal-Marts in this area. What is it with Wal-Marts and G.I. Joes? What have they got against America’s greatest heroes?
