25th G.I. Joe Wave 2 - In High Rez
Nothing fancy here, folks. Just pictures of Wave 2 from the 25th Anniversary G.I. Joe Line. (Click on any pic to super-size it) This wave is expected to hit stores sometime in September.
I’m not so sure that this Serpentor is doing it for me. I really loved the original when I was a kid, but this version doesn’t have his golden chariot nor does he have that weird snake hood behind his head:

To me, you kind of have to have that in order for him to retain his classic look. Props on the cool knife and sword, though.
I was never a big fan of the Deadnoks, but this Buzzer looks pretty fuggen cool with his chainsaw.
Army Builders will like this Cobra trooper, unless you’re more picky and strictly consider him an officer… then you’ve got to buy tons of standard troops from 25th Anniversary five packs for your army building needs. Me, not so much.
The Joe team has two additions in wave two. Beachhead was always a figure that appealed to me as a kid, because he’s one of the few Joes that was masked all of the time. I hope his mask is made from breathable cotton, because otherwise he’s got to be one stinky mother.
Finally, Lady Jay is in the line to compliment wave one’s Flint.
This is another figure that I’m really not sure if I’m all hot on. I’m going to wait until I see her up close and personal before I make my final judgment… there’s just something about her head I’m just not digging. Hopefully, you can take that cap off of her so she looks a little more like the Lady Jay from the cartoon that I crushed on during childhood. Hey, I can’t be the only one that dug her can I?
*By the way, you can blame the a-holes on eBay that think it’s okay to hotlink images for the huge ToyBender stamp.

I like all of these and am less happy with Lady Jay, but we’ll see. Nice hi-rez!
Oh and thanks eBay-ers for crashing the party.

I had that problem, too (as you might imagine). If you want, I can give you some pointers on foiling the hotlinkers.
I certainly hope Lady Jaye’s hat isn’t removable - look at her, and think how square her head would have to be without it.
I like the modern look for Serpentor, but the flames on Buzzer’s saw bug me…

Ahh, I see what you mean about her square head. I was hoping there would be some sort of magical transformation where she didn’t look like a freak if it came off.

Oh yeah, let me know how you deal with them. I don’t have a lot of control over them since this really isn’t my blog (it’s 451 Press owned), but I’d like to hear what you do. Email me!

When are these scheduled to be released?

Thanks for stopping by Daniel. If you read the first paragraph it says, “This wave is expected to hit stores sometime in September.”

Thanks Paul. Yeah I read that, just wondered if anyone had a specific date. Because these fly off the shelves here and I’ve had to scour every store in town to get all of the last ones. I’d rather not have to do that this time. thanks again.

No prob, but it’s when they get to stores so nobody really knows. I have the same problem that you do, in fact everyone has these problems. The theory is that Hasbro and store owners underestimated demand. I have faith that hasbro has enough business sense that they’ve increased production on them.

I’ve been looking about every other day since Sept and can’t find them anywhere. Sometime in September is almost up. Lady Jay looks weird. Serpentor looks weird without Cobra snake thing that behind his head, I don’t know why they left that off. I can’t wait to get Beachhead (what’s on his shoulder?) and Buzzer. I thought that was blood on his chainsaw when I saw a different picture of it. Flames? eh.. Still like it however.

“sometime in September” was a pipe dream. October is more likely, and November is the most realistic…

There better be some under my christmas tree damn it.
