25th G.I. Joe Wave 3 - Now in High Rez!
I recently got my hands on some high rez pictures of wave 3 of the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary figures. Sure we’ve seen these before at Comic-con, but here they are all nice and big. (Click on any pic to super-size it) You can expect this wave to hit stores sometime in October.
First up is fan favorite Firefly. You know, he’s one of the few masked figures that never made it to ninja status, especially in the ninja happy 90s. Thank god.
Here’s the 25th version of Zartan. He’s looking pretty good and he’s got some decent accessories to boot.
Here’s the Red Ninja who is absolutely not Storm Shadow. Just check out that staff, Storm Shadow doesn’t have a staff. And look at how red he is, Storm Shadow is not red. Yep, this is definitely not Storm Shadow.
There’s two new additions for the Joe team. Shipwreck, who comes with his annoying bird Polly, and Stalker. Stalker was shown at Comic-Con as a prototype, so this is our first good look at a fully painted version.
Does anyone else think it’s wierd that Frank Welker did the voice of Polly and Megatron?

Combat boots?

I like this series and also wondered about the Red Ninja.
I also think that Zartan looks like Alice Cooper, but it’s cool. I’ll be getting all of these!

WTF does red-not-Storm-Shadow need a giant, Tesla-coil of a cattle prod for?
What’s in Zartan’s bag ‘o tricks?

probably space to store his mask, like the original. I hear his face will be color-changing, too. Awesome!
Is Stalker’s uniform supposed to be that bright? He’s quite… neon.
One thing, though: Firefly DID make it to ninja status. That means Beachhead is the only masked guy who didn’t…

Shit yo go re, I totally missed that ninja status Firefly. I’m going to pretend you didn’t say that so I can live in my blissful ignorance again.
.
GWS, I figure that giant cattleprod is to catch pirates or something.
.
Harry, I liked your reply so I’ve got to keep the spam now so your joke makes sense.

I’m still not digging these toys, but that red ninja is rather swank looking.

Agreed, that Stalker is way too bright. It’s almost as if he had to smother his green fatigues in his own urine to escape one of Cobra’s evil plots.

someone doesn’t like the TFAC figures?
…
*mind explodes*

I think that people don’t like the new Joe figures don’t like them because everyone else does (sorry if that’s not your reason Monte), but on the Joe message boards you get that feeling.

“he’s one of the few masked figures that never made it to ninja status, especially in the ninja happy 90s. Thank god.”
Holy Red Banshee Batman! What rock have you been hiding under? Firefly was the “faceless Master” who infiltrated the Arashikage’s clan during the period before The Hard Master was killed. His Ninja backround has been a major part of his character!

“Holy Red Banshee Batman! What rock have you been hiding under?”
I think I was too busy playing football and having sex with cheerleaders.
OR I was focusing 100% of my time on Star Wars related things. I’ll let you guess which one is the truth. Anyway, I was talking about the toys not the comics and even then I’m figuring I’m wrong. Thanks for stopping by though.

? He’s listed as a Saboteur and doesn’t come with ninja like weapons. Am I missing something there?
September 6th, 2007 at 8:17 pm
the ninj-tastic uniform he’s wearing…
September 6th, 2007 at 11:46 pm
Hah, I thought it looked more like a horrible, horrible fashion choice. Even his original costume is sort of ninja like except he’s got a grenade belt.
I just thought of another masked character that never became a ninja besides Beachhead, Shockwave. Although, a ninja with a baseball hat would be pretty silly.

Red Ninja? Where does this come from? The comics or something? I obsessively collected joes and watched the cartoons after school. Don’t remember him at all.
September 18th, 2007 at 4:23 pm
I believe that he’s red satan from Argentina, but I believe there were red ninjas in the comics. Of course, I’ll get corrected if I’m wrong on that. Oh boy will I get corrected heh

tons of red ninjas in the comics. A whole clan of them. Think Jinx - she wore the red pajamas, you know?
September 19th, 2007 at 10:49 am
I knew about Jinx, but I wasn’t so sure about dudes in red.
September 22nd, 2007 at 5:12 pm
Yeah, knew about Jinx. Are the red ninjas Cobra or some other group?
September 24th, 2007 at 9:03 pm
some other. Either they ARE the Arashikages or they FIGHT the Arashikages or… something. May have actually been both of those at different points. So they’re not Cobra-aligned, but they were trouble-makers (at least one time)…
