Alley Vipers Are the Coolest
On Hisstank.com they featured a really great custom that had me drooling. It’s of a 25th style Alley Viper, which is one of my favorite G.I. Joe figures of all time:

This sucker won first prize in Hisstank’s custom contest for good reason, it rocks ten boners.
The original Alley Viper is one of my favorite Joe figures of all time. You couldn’t get a figure that looked cooler to me in my formative years. He had an awesome helmet/face shield, a cool gun, a super detailed backpack, and his beyond awesome body shield. So what if he was orange and blue? In those days, hideously bright colors were cool.
Later versions of the Alley Viper changed his shield to a round Cobra symbol, but I prefer the dagger-like look of the original. They also changed his visor, but again I prefer the original. If Hasbro could make a figure that looked essentially like the above with a shield that looked like the original (perhaps slightly larger), I’d be a happy man indeed. I’m thinking that he might look awesome in some more realistic camo, but keep the orange and blue as a variation. Krom, I can only imagine the amount of Alley Vipers I’d buy if they released them.
Anyway, enough of my geeking out. If you’re interested, here’s a terrible picture of my small Alley Viper squad I’ve cobbled together over the last year:

What’s funny is that I can’t tell which one is my original Alley Viper anymore. I’m pretty sure it’s not one of them, but it’s any buddies guess after the two. And in case you’re wondering, I cut myself off at three ARAH Alley Vipers…. unless I see one for a really good price.

What your Alley Viper army lacks in numbers, it makes up in enthusiasm and obnoxious neon colors.
