Clone Watch: Battlefront 2 Retailer Exclusive Figure Packs

Just when I become Mr. Cocky Know-it-all Toy Blogger and I think I know everything about all the newest Star Wars toys coming down the pipeline, I see news on a site like RebelScum.com pointing out my inadequacies so I know I’m not cock of the walk. I’m cock of nothing.
The ego deflating news is that there will be two battle packs chock full of figures based on the game Star Wars: Battlefront 2. The selection consists of a ton of clone variants:

The other set is a bunch of Battle Droid variants… blah blah blah who cares? It’s the clones that were the cool ones during that war. If you somehow are a fan of the droids and I’m not sure why you would be, here’s a group pic:

At least they come with a Gonk droid.
If you’re not familiar with the game, it puts you into the shoes of a soldier in some fairly large scale Star Wars battles. There are different troop types that each have their own specializations in order to get the job done. One of my favorites in the game is the Galactic Marine who is armed with a kick ass mini-gun like weapon. As far as his figure goes though, he’s not much of a must have because the only difference between him and the basic figure is the huge gun he comes with. Still, the other figures in this set make this a must buy for the die-hard clone collector, especially the Jet Trooper who comes with a different helmet and jet pack.
Both of the battle packs will be exclusive to the online retailer, ToyWiz.com. While it might not necessarily as drool inducing as the Entertainment Earth 14 figure Mandalorian set, it’s got some pretty kick ass figures.

Indeed, who cares about Battle Droids? Anyway, you can also get this “exclusive” through Previews or BigBadToyStore. The term “exclusive” seems to be thrown around pretty liberally these days.

I noticed that a day after I put that up, but I was too lazy to edit the post. Maybe where I read it meant it was an internet exclusive?
