Coverage of The San Diego Comic Con… From Those There

by

Sigh, another day where I miss Comic Con. Bah humbug. Well, there’s still tons to cover. I figure that I can go over a few of the cool items that I’ve seen on the interwebs. I plan on doing more detailed posts on particular toys I really like if I can get some pictures of them later. If you noticed anything of note so far, drop me a line in the comments.

G.I. Joe

There were a few Joe figures that saw their debut at this year’s Comic Con. Most notably a retooled Zartan complete with his swampmobile thing. It is so cool that it made one of Toy Bender’s readers vomit with excitement, which is ten times better than vomiting with rage.

Transformers

Transformers Classics 2.0 was on display and there’s some exciting Transformers, including an Optimus Prime reissue. I’ll have to pick him up for sure to match my original Optimus and my Generation 2 re-issue. One can’t have too many of the same Optimus Prime figure…

Ninja Turtles

NECA unleashed the awesome with the unveiling of the Turtles’ greatest foes: Shredder and Krang! Shredder is one of the ultimate badasses of all time. I’m glad that NECA did such a great job with him, but you really couldn’t ask for any less from NECA.

McFarlane Toys

More Spartan variants from their Halo 3 line. Well what else did you expect?

Mattel

There hasn’t been a whole lot out of Mattel yet, but their new collector’s website, MattyCollector.com, is up. I’ve gotten a countdown screen and I’ve also got in using this link. Don’t get to excited when you see that you can purchase Comic Con exclusives, it didn’t work for me at all.

Lego

If you’re wondering what the SDCC Lego sets are then head on over here. There’s a cool Indiana Jones with Jeep as well as a Clone Wars set that includes a Hailfire Droid and a Spider Droid. My psychic powers predict that these sets will cost a fortune on eBay.

Ah ha! Thanks for finding pics of the McFarlane booth! I was trying to find stuff last night with no results. Your the man!

That Halo heroic pack with the smaller spartans is interesting, but not worth a pickup to me. Those Legendary 12″ figures those? Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

  2. Esbat Says:

LEGO sucks! As does NASCAR and NHL.

  3. Esbat Says:

okay after checking out the various links I’m totally getting that Adam Strange/Starfire 2 pack. The price is right AND its fricken Adam Strange and Starfire!

  4. Paul Says:

*Vomits with rage at Esbat’s anti Lego comment*

  5. Esbat Says:

LEGO is one of the many tools of the devil. Okay I don’t really hate LEGO but hearing about and seeing them upsets me because an asshole I know collects them and remind me of him.
