Custom Figure Corner: Micronauts Figures That Give Nerdgasms
I like shitty comics. Not all shitty comics, mind you, but I’m the proud owner of many an issues of comics that are rarely seen outside of a quarter bin in a comics shop. The funny thing is that some of them are only considered bad comics if you haven’t read them like Micronauts. There’s plenty to love in the Micronauts series (both from Marvel and independent comic) what with a Star Wars-like space opera mix in with a lot of popular Marvel guest stars. The really horrible part of being a Micronauts fan is that there most likely will never be a series of figures based on the characters found in the Marvel comics. What’s that? There is a toy line of the Micronauts? Well the actual Micronauts toys that the comic is based on barely resemble the heroes found in the comics. That’s why I went ape shiat when I ran across this link the other day:
Is this the best use of Sigma Six figures ever? I’d have to say so, but I guess the public at large might not agree. If G.I. Joe Sigma Six was only invented to eventually give the world works of art based on Micronauts, then I’d have to say that it was well worth it.
The figure that I’d want the most is Acroyear. He’s the dude with the red helmet up there. He’s would be the offspring if Boba Fett had a threesome with Worf and Eddie Van Halen (no he’s not musical, he just really rocks hard). Bug also rocks many socks and fortunatly he’s one of the only Micronauts that can be still seen in Marvel comics today, due to the fact the rest of them are in Trademark Hell along with my beloved Rom.
For this, I must bust out the official ToyBender cool stamp:

On a semi-related note: The comic shop that I visit on a regular visit, Treasure Island Comics, had their annual sale. As usual the quarter bin became the 10 for a dollar bin. Well they had cleared out a lot of their back issues and dumped them in the quarter bin previously, so I ended up getting about twenty Micronauts issues of the first Marvel series and almost a complete run of the subsequent Marvel series for way cheaper than I’d ever anticipated. Yes, I was TEH WINNER KID!!!!11
Now please tell me I’m not the only one here that loves Micronauts. Let me know in the comments if you do!

Oh, it’s not just you. I loved the comic, moreso than any of the toys that actually came out. I had the second series but have since lost it; I wouldn’t mind getting it again since I remember it as having it’s moments before it crashes and burns.

“Is this the best use of Sigma Six figures ever?”
Keep in mind, I made a Sigma-based toy of me, and I’m even cooler than Micronauts.

Cooler than the Micronauts? Granted you are cool, but I dunno about Micronauts cool…

Hasbro owns Rom.
Marvel did Rom comics.
Hasbro does Marvel Legends.
Why does Hasbro not do an ML-style Rom?
And yes, also some of Marvel’s Micronauts. If Bug can freaking show up in the comics still today, they could make toys of him…

The prototypes do but they need interest from neat 10,000 fans before they will reaquire the license to release them.
