Diamond’s G.I. Joe Listings

by

From the “things we have already seen, but are still nice to look at file” comes the Diamond Previews newest G.I. Joe solicitations. The most notable in the solicitations are the brand spanking new 25th style Joe vehicles that were previously shown at comic-con.

Both of these are a must buy purchase, but let’s hope that Hasbro turns down the green a bit on the Water Moccasin. It shouldn’t be a G.I. Joe green. It’s evil! I also was a bit reserved about owning another Copperhead, but this time it’s Python Patrol Copperhead. Triple woot. A damn that Skyhawk (which is called a “Ghost” Hawk, most likely due to a lost copyright) is HOT. It’s one of my favorite mini-vehicles and I’m incredibly glad it’s being remade, mostly because the old one barely fits any Joes, much less any of the 25th variety. Finally, that Lift Ticket is incredible. I need to assemble my old Tomahawk post haste.

Previews has also got the Combat Heroes figures and the less than stellar 12 inchers… if you care. I’m not sure if I’ll be picking up any of the Combat Heroes any time soon, but they sure are damn cute. Anyone want to split a Barbecue/Storm Shadow two pack? I’d be keeping the Storm Shadow, of course.

If you don’t know just what the heck Previous is then I’ll tell you. It’s a giant catalog put out by Diamond, the one company that supplies comic book stores with their wares. A lot of times you can order stuff in the books through your local comic shop… I think. I’m not too hip on how all that works. I’m only a level seven nerd. I think you need to be at least a level eight to be more knowledgeable about that sort of thing.

Man, that Skyhawk is looking SWEET. What’s more is that that set covers BOTH my “firsts” in Joe collecting when I was a kid. The Skyhawk (followed soon by the Devilfish) was my first GI Joe vehicle I ever got as a kid. My first BIG Joe vehicle…was the Tomahawk, which is piloted by Lift Ticket. So, as soon as I see this set, it’s going to swish from the shelf into my cart so fast, it’ll be like it was never even on the shelf in the first place.

I passed up that new Conquest today at Target, I just didn’t feel it warranted the $25 as I did not see much updating of the original (which I had). The Rattler however, which they didn’t have, will be coming home with me.

  2. D. Verburg Says:

Lift Ticket is titz. problem is, 2 pilots, no helicopters. no cup, either. OH WELL

    also, barbeque > storm shadow

I am stoked for a little boat and that thing Gung Ho chased Zartan through the swamps with. man, thank god for Lift Ticket we could have just gotten a cartoon colored Gung Ho

  3. Michael Says:

I’ll take the Barbeque !(since Verburg didn’t specifically specify he wanted it) There’s a Beachhead in that wave too I believe. That’s the one I’m excited for. I don’t know. The Combat Heroes are kind of fun, and can compliment the Robot Heroes Shockwave and the Super Hero Squad Deadpool I have on my computer desk.

And I want the Water Moccasin as well. It’s awesome! Love the way Copperhead was done too. It will be nice since I didn’t really want to pick up the comic pack.

  4. Monte Says:

    Dang, Life-Ticket looks awesome!

  5. Tom Says:

The Sky Hawk looks great. Lift Ticket without a goofy grin? Excellent!

  6. Sam Says:

While I must admit that those look nice, for whatever reason I just can’t get into the 25th stuff anymore. I used to love it all, but maybe I’m burnt out. That, or I’m still mad that they’re 7-8 bucks a friggin’ figure!

Anyone who has the Copperhead comic pack want to trade for the Python Patrol version? I want the Water Moccasin, but otherwise I’m going to have to repaint the driver (captain? pilot?)…
