eBay Madness: Grandma’s Star Wars Toys
While not gut busting hilarious, I found this auction funny in it’s banality. It answers the question, “What happens when Grandma finds some Star Wars figures that she thinks are worth something and decides to put them on eBay?” The answer is she charges a pretty high amount for a few figures that aren’t really worth it, but the real beauty here is the descriptions of the characters. It’s like it’s written through a translation device like Babelfish, like how this site is written.
”ATTENTION COLLECTOR OF STAR WARS”
SELLING AS A GROUP ( 7 )OF YOUR
FAVORITE CHARACTERS.
AM NOT SURE OF ALL THE NAMES.
SESTROYER(1977),THE SAND PEOPLE WITH ARMORY(1977)
(NOT DATED)R2D2(HE IS WORN A LITTLE )BUT WORKS
STORMTROOPER(NOT DATED) STAR DROID ?(1978).
BOTH DARTH VADER (1977) ONE HAS A CAPE
ONE WITHOUT.
THEY ARE ALL IN WORKING CONDITION.
Sand People with Armory? Sestroyer? Action figures in working condition? Oh Grandma, take your medicine! Your brain is broke again!
I suppose 25 bucks isn’t that bad of a price for the amount of figures, but I’d figure you’d have to be pretty hard up to need to add these to your collection. It’s hard to imagine that these figures that look like the beat ass up Star Wars toys of my youth are worth more than a penny each.

Wow! A cape-less Darth Vader! I’ve been looking all over for that!

You could not have found a more ridiculous Ebay listing with a better blog post crafted around it. Cheers.

That capeless Vader is almost as rare as the exploded crotch Cobra Commander! And I missed out! :’(

these’d actually fetch about $60 each here in australia.. well, maybe $40 - but that is still an ok price.
