eBay Madness: My Little Stripper Demon Pony
Toy customizing is becoming a bigger and bigger thing all the time. People are turning regular toys into even better toys that you can’t get anywhere else all of the time and some are making some pretty good money doing it on eBay. I think it’s gone a bit too far though, and this eBay auction kind of proves it. If you always liked My Little Pony and thought to yourself, “You know, I really like these, but I think it needs more of a stripper/demon look.”, then this toy customizer has what you’ve been secretly been looking for, Stipper My Little Pony
Now, behold her soul devouring gaze!
My Little Pony Knows the dark things inside your soul. She has such wonderful things to show you!
For some reason, this eBay seller had a serious lack of good judgment and thought that putting in enormous glass eyes into a My Little Pony was a really good idea. The results could almost be considered a crime against humanity, or at least some sort of abuse charges should be filed against her.

Wow. It even sold for close to 50 bucks.
Oh, well. I’m sure this pony is a single mom and needs the money to help take care of her three little baby ponies who are living with Grandma Pony right now while Stripper Pony tries to get on her feet.

The ponies are now actually coming with those glass eyes from the manufacturer…and they are creepy. They are producing both the ones with the glass eyes and the traditional look.

I think you are all getting a little heated over nothing. This is definitely one of the tamer custom ponies I’ve seen and it looks to be really well done. You have to remember who is buying these customs, and it’s not the 6 year old down the street (at least it shouldn’t be or I would question that kid’s parent’s common sense, who let’s their kids on EBay unsupervised??). There are a lot of adult collector (including myself) who would love to have her as part of their collection. Other than her eyes, there’s nothing “stripper” like about her at all (and even her eyes are questionable, have you seen the eye lashes on a real horse? They’re just as long!). I’ve seen much scarier “Goth” and “Demon” custom ponies that might have actually warrented this criticism. Be nice to the artists who express themselves this way, if there wasn’t a market for this sort of thing, do you really think they’d be selling them on EBay at such high prices?

Yeah, you’re totally right. I guess it’s too much to expect people to have good taste.

I think it´s lovely. Lots of hard work behind these custom ponies. Kudos to the creator!

“My Little Pony!”
“My Whore Pony!”
“Watch- me- take- my clothes off for you!”
Sorry, I cannot help my bold sense of humor. Well, I think it is a great piece of artwork. Before I got into selling toys, I was heavily into creating a pshychadelic(pardon the spelling) erotic style of airbrushed art. So, I can empathize with the creator. I actually have thought about doing some custom jobs myself, since I have a ton of beat up broken toys, an airbrush and 25 years of artistic talent.

Wow, this customizer did a fantastic job! Kudos to her!

Man, there sure is some arrogance in some of these comments. I suppose though if I thought more subtly, I might get arrogant as well.
I’m not really sure why there was this slight backlash against you on this Paul. It’s not like you were damning anyone, just pointing out that this pony is a bit creepy. And why is it that when you poke fun at something there’s always that person who projects something that someone else said onto your thoughts? Blah! By the way: just because people buy something, that doesn’t mean that it is “art” or anything like that. People bought Paris Hilton’s CD after all.

You’re mostly right on, Sam. I really like your point about art.
You can’t make fun of anything without someone being offended. That’s life. The problem is that all the regular readers have seen this and moved on with their lives. The only people that are finding it now are looking for My Little Pony or something like that. Of course they’ll be more into My Little Pony, because they are searching it out and will be more likely be upset at someone making fun of it. The same thing happens with the ICP figures I wrote about. Once in awhile I’ll get a comment from some moron ICP fan, because they searched it out and found my site making fun of what they like.
Don’t get me wrong, I like My Little Pony, my wife collects the damn things so I’m more “into” them than any other girl’s toy, but this thing looks like ass.
November 13th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
Mostly right? I see you didn’t get the memo about me always being completely right!
Seriously though, I know what you mean. At times I’m a bit sarcastic for my own good, and that tends to draw the ire of, shall we say, less than mirthful people.
As for girl’s toys, my wife is really into Barbies (she thinks the new My Little Ponies are freaky) so I’m more into Barbie than other girl’s toys. Man, those are some hoochie dolls sometimes.

Oh, and I agree. Those ICP figures are crap.

I f***ing love it!!! i’m abit of a pony collector though… Argh i love it!!! I think most you guys (except Ambear) are totally underestimating how serious pony collecting actually is, there are alot of people (mature adults) that actually collect ponies, the way people collect stamps or model planes, etc. I am one of them and i would totally love to have this one in my collection!
