Excuse Me, You Haven’t Seen Two Droids Have You?
Rebelscum.com has given us a glimpse at the upcoming Star Wars Lar’s Homestead that most notably comes with a part of Luke’s house. Check it out:
Wow, how exciting (please add a moderate amount of sarcasm there). At first I thought the Stormtrooper was urinating because of the angle his back is turned to us combined with the way his arm is positioned. Maybe that’s what happened. Uncle Owen started to throw some ‘tude at a Trooper that needed to relieve himself on Aunt Beru. I hate to say Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru deserved their horrible charred fates, but if a Stormtrooper wants to pee on your wife you better let him (and then you better damn well thank him afterwards).
Shoot. Now I have the song, “The Boys Are Back In Town” stuck in my head.
And my wife just told me is what we need more of is action figure collections of people just before they die.

Don’t you hate it when your wife is funnier than you are?
I’ve been there, man.

Personally, I’m holding out for the variant set with charred corpses.

That’s never going to happen.

Way to crush my dreams, Paul. What’s next? You gonna tell me there’s no Santa Claus too?
August 27th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Well there was a Santa Claus, but he died.

wow, Hasbro knows exactly what the kids and collectors want, an Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru action figure playset, ugh.

I’m sending you my next therapy bill, pal.

i want the charred remains too! it’ll be the first star wars figures I would’ve bought since episode 3.

I think we all immediately expected to see charred remains.
I have judged this playset and found it… wanting.
August 27th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
I’m going to buy the set and then set fire to it. This way I’ll be making my own special, “missing scene” for the movie!

I find the lack of charred corpses disturbing.
Seriously, I don’t think I’ve bought a non-Lego Star Wars item (other than a novel or comics) since ROTS. If this set does not come with charred corpses hidden in the adobe then it had better be an exclusive. If it’s not, it will probably sit on shelves till it’s discounted at half off. I did almost by the Target rancor at half off…but I moved and got poor in the process…

A point to consider: Who is more morbid, the fans who expect charred corpses in a Lars Homestead playset, or Hasbro, for making a playset allowing the kiddies to reenact the brutal murder of Luke’s aunt and uncle?
The only logical evolution of this trend is an Alderaan playset with planet-exploding action.

There’s a GIJoe DVD pack coming up with a skeleton. Buy two, snip the accessories, and highlight with some black spraypaint. . .bada bing. Owen and Beru’s last scene.
