Finally, G.I. Joe Seven Packs I Really Need
I enjoyed the idea of the Cobra winter and dessert themed internet exclusive packs as much as the next guy (which I gave away during the Toys for Tots contest this year), but I’m really digging on the next set of G.I. Joe seven packs as seen on Topless Robot:

Now, I’m not sure if it’s because almost everything on TR has to be hated or what, because I think these sets are great. Everyone else seemed pretty negative about them. I don’t know why, just look at all the great figures you get: Outback, Recondo, Dr. Mindbender, Range Viper, Alley Viper, Lampreys, Night Creeper, and a Strato Viper.
The figure selection is much better than what I’d expect from something like this. Outback was originally due out with the FLAK Cannon, so who knows when he’ll come out. Dr. Minderbender is just awesome, and there are a lot of highly desirable army builders in there. Fans looking to get their hands on the “original” thirteen can finally complete their set. Hell, Chuckles has is own fan base and you can’t tell me people aren’t dying for Night Creepers for Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow to pound on. And let’s not forget the greatest figure ever, Alley Viper. Come on!

I am going to have both these sets if I have to fist-fight a 12 year old in the toy aisle to obtain the last ones. If Mom tries to jump in, I’ll whoop her ass too.
Not even kidding.

I’m going to break down this awsome set. There may be some quirks with the characters, and some ???’s as to why some are in the set, but they are all new figures, which is more than anybody could ask for.
THE JOES:
Outback: One of my favorite clasic figures, yes he is supposed to come out with the flak cannon at some point, but his inclusion in these sets, along with strato viper, make me wonder if we will see them. But this one looks like it comes with a tactical vest that looks okay.
Recondo: A very much requested figure I hope he comes with his hat.
Zap: Well I wish he had his Clark Gable mustache, but I’m just happy to round out my original 13.
Chuckles: My all time favorite joe. I will get at lest 2 of these. I hope they had the flamboyent flowers to his shirt. My second copy I will make tiger force with a tiger striped shirt. This is awesome and worth the 30 buck alone. (is that an anikan skywalker head?)
Hit and Run: I’ve never liked this character, but I will have someone to clime rocks with Alpine. I would have rather seen Air-Tight in this set.
Wet-Suit: I’m glad that letherneck will have his best squid budy to pal around with. And he has a removable mask which is a bonus for me.
THE REAL RIPCORD: This is another figure that makes this set worth it’s price. I will have a non-wayans 25th style ripcord, and that makes me happy. I hope he comes with green HALO gear repainted from Para-viper. I can’t see his face enough to see if he looks like zartan at all or not, but i’m still happy to see a proper ripcord figure. I may turn the wayans one into a cool-breeze figure.
COBRAS:
Dr. Mindbender: He rounds out the cobra leadership, and is a must have. I don’t collect MOC figures so i don’t care that he is in this pack instead. Most people are going to have many extras of this guy though.
Range Viper: My only hopes is that he comes with his skull helmet.
ALLEY VIPER!!!: The best viper ever, I still have my original one but this is the most exciting for me out of the cobra set. And is unfortunately the one that is going to make me upset the wife when I order 5 of these packs.
Lampray’s: While we will never get a hydrophoil, i’m pretty confident there will be many of these for sale cheap because lots of armys just wont have a role for him.
Battle Damaged BAT: Every release of the BAT gets that much better, this will be available for sale in hall of heroes, but I won’t mind getting more. but Does this mean the new wave he was supposed to be in was canceled
Night Creeper: Another good figure that I’m happy to see. This is a welcome change to the current pool of repetitive ninja styles.
Strato Viper: Again, I think we may not see the Flack. The night raven sucks, so i may only use one or two of these, but they look good.
This overall set amazes me and I will be getting a case at least. So paul I will save some figures for you. Don’t know if I can part with the Vipers, but I’ll have something saved up for ya.

@StromSigma- Unfortunately these will probably be online exclusives, so you will just have to battle the USPS guy

Well, see? They KNEW that this would be the reaction from us fanboys, so they made ‘em online only to save little children everywhere. Good move on their part, I say!
One thing I wish is that there were pictures of their accessories. For instance, some of those figures come with multiple items and it would be a disappointment if all they come with in the set is a rifle. Alley Viper and Hit & Run being two of those I am really worried about.

I’m sure they come with the necessary hats, helmets, and other accessories; the previous 7 packs were pretty loaded. I also don’t think these will be as hard to get as people think; see again, previous 7 packs are still available in quantity.
These sets are made of win and tits. I can’t imagine any fanboy complaining about Hasbro giving us a renamed Ripcord, for God’s sake (of course, the irony of the outcry over Ripcord being changed to a black dude…and Altitude, a Native American, being changed to a white guy and being met with applause…well let’s just not linger too much on that one).

Topless Robot has declared jihad on the Alley Viper as a whole.

Wow, this is the first I’ve heard of these sets, but they’re both a slice of fried gold.
And worry not, Paul: Topless Robot wouldn’t know good from bad if it was tattooed across their knuckles…

Worry not even more, I don’t even know what topless robot is. But is she hot??

Great figures.

I am definitely looking forward to the Cobra set ’cause I loves me more Cobra troops. The Joes don’t excite me quite as much right now, but maybe it’s because of the lack of most of the accessories in the photos. Without all their signature gear many of them just look like random soldiers. I’ll still most likely be picking up both sets, though.

I agree on the lack of accessories hurting them angle. The Alley Viper needs his helmet, so does the range viper, etc.
