Friday Wrap Up: Post Christmas Edition

by Paul

Wow, another Christmas down. Hope it was a good one for you!

Item: Oh boy, I forgot how big of a dip in traffic one gets during Christmas and Christmas Eve. It’s funny to see almost the entirety of the internet disappear to do non-internety things. Now I know why TV stations don’t even bother trying on those days.

Item: For the first time in three years I took no time off Christmas week and it really sucks having to work on the 26th. There should be laws against this! Laws!

Item: Hope you gave to Toys For Tots this year. If you haven’t sent an entry in yet for the contest, you better do it soon. Last day for submissions is 12/31/08. After that the winners will be chosen and fantastic prizes will be sent their way.

Item: The only “toy” I got for Christmas this year was an AT-AP for my clone armies. I’ve got to say I really dig it and it’s a nice call back to getting the AT-ST (or “Chicken Walker” as my parents used to call it) I got oh so many years ago for Christmas in the ’80s. It’s a little under sized, but that’s the nerd nitpicker in me.

Item: I got Left 4 Dead for the 360. Who wants to play? I think it would be fun to have a Toy Bender zombie kill crew.

Item: Poe Ghostal (who I’ve been ripping off with these posts) posted his Christmas card picture. It’s the most adorable thing ever.

Item: The end of Christmas can mean only one thing! The start of super sales. Target always has amazing clearance sales around this time a year, but you better hurry before all the good stuff is gone. I missed out on the 21st Century Apache helicopters last year and I’m still hurting over that one.
