G.I. Joe 25th Update: HISS Tanks, Wild Bills, Oh My!
I’ve got two significant G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary updates for y’all. The first is that the boxed image of one of the upcoming vehicles hit the nets. Here she is in all her glory, the 25th Anniversary Target Exclusive H.I.S.S. Tank courtesy of Toy News International:

As you may have noticed, that H.I.S.S. Tank driver is a bit different than the original. That’s because Hasbro already blew their H.I.S.S. Tank driver wad on the 2nd 25th Anniversary Cobra five pack, so they wisely decided to change him up a bit if you already bought that pack. Now if you’re an obsessed Joe fan you have no choice but to buy this pack.
I might just skip this one. I like the figure enough, but I have a MIP H.I.S.S. Tank from the last time they released them. I don’t really need another one laying around. Now if they would have made it so it could hold extra troops like the H.I.S.S. II, then there wouldn’t be any question here.
In other G.I. Joe news, the list of figures coming out in wave seven was uncovered.
- Wild Bill
- Major Bludd
- Spirit Iron Knife
- Cobra Viper
- Hiss Tank Driver
- Duke w/Jet Pack
- Snake Eyes V4
I can’t wait for the Viper. What’s odd is that H.I.S.S. Tank driver in there. Is he a re-release of the one that came in the five pack or the one in the Target box set discussed above?

I wish they made the H.I.S.S. Tank a little nicer, maybe more detailed. I think it looks worse than the original.

I agree with Savage, that HISS tank doesn’t look too great. The driver is fine, but they could have put a lot more detail into the tank. When you compare it to the detail of the Sigma 6 line, that tank just looks awful.

Pictures are up. amd Wild Bill’s glasses look pretty ridiculous. I’m not really interested in Snake-Eyes now, since it seems that they will now mold him in the wacky ultra-ninja attire. The Hiss tank driver on the other hand? It was one of my favorite old figs for some reason, so I’m happy to see it made.

I might just get this to keep it MIB. But think I’ll ebay for the driver instead.
