G.I. Joe 25th: Wave 4 Catch Up Time
The G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary line keeps on coming, this time Hasbro is releasing most of the 25th Anniversary boxed figures in single packs. While this might be a retread, it’s certainly a welcome site in the case a few of these figures:
Cobra Commander

It’s nice to see the Commander again, although I’ll have to pass this one up. He’s not the kind of figure I absolutely need to have carded, since the 25th Anniversary five pack figure fills my Commander needs quite nicely.
Destro

Destro’s another nice figure to have if you didn’t pick up the Cobra 25th Anniversary five pack. Hasbro really missed an opportunity here. It doesn’t look like Destro’s head is metalized at all. The silver paint really doesn’t do it for me on this figure and I’m not sure why his fist is positioned right over his crotch…
Cobra Airtrooper

One figure in this wave that is a welcome sight is the Cobra Airtrooper who gives me one less reason to buy the 25th Anniversary Cobra pack and army builders a more affordable way to build a unit of air assault troopers. I really dig the card art on this one as well, so I’m pretty much expecting this to be hard to find at retail.
Storm Shadow

Now we’re talking. Yes I do own this guy from the 25th Anniversary box set, but here’s pretty much the only chance I’ll ever have of getting a classic(ish) Storm Shadow on a card without having to fork over a grand. Sure I could get a recard, but I’m not so much into recards and this would be cheaper in any instance.
Duke

There are a lot of Joe fans out there that hate Duke and consider Hawk THE leader of G.I. Joe. While I’ve never been a big Duke fan per-se, Duke is the leader of the Joes to me. I follow the cartoons more than anything else and it was almost always Duke calling the shots, no matter how ridiculous the situation the Joes found themselves in. I mean… shooting apples into a giant blob monster Cobra created?
Scarlett

I was never a big Scarlett guy, but she’s still an interesting character as she’s one of the few people on Earth (besides her brothers and father) who is Irish and is a martial arts master. And I’m sorry Snake Eyes, in my mind she’ll always be Duke’s girlfriend.
Gung-Ho

Even before I knew what gay dudes were, I knew that Gung-Ho was pretty gay. Just look at the guy, he looks like he’d be better suited in the honor guard for a pride parade.
Road Block

Now it’s time for the dude who taught white kids that black people rhyme. Road Block is here and he’s mighty pissed I’m calling Gung Ho a queer. Hey it’s okay, I’m down with being gay.

The cobras are a must-get! Aww man it sucks to play catch up. I wonder who will ever buy those last two dudes? They’re a joke.
