G.I. Joe 25th: Wave 4 Comic Packs
Last week Hasbro revealed Wave 4 of the comic two packs in the 25th Anniversary line. These packs feature comics written by A Real American Hero file card and comic scribe Larry Hama like the previous waves of comic packs. Let’s take a look at this wave and see if we have anything worth purchasing.
Storm Shadow and Firefly

Yep, it’s another Storm Shadow. As the United States’ premier homo for Storm Shadow, I can honestly say that I think Hasbro is pushing it a bit far with all these releases. However, this one looks pretty cool and damn it all if he doesn’t come with the neatest backpack on a Storm Shadow so far. Firefly also has a pretty cool case as well and he looks a bit different than his previous release, so this two pack might actually worth plunking down some hard earned ducats.
Shipwreck and Copperhead

Ahhhh Shipwreck and his secret lover Copperhead, at least in my G.I. Joe slash fiction. This is pretty neat looking pairing and probably the only way you’ll get your hands on a 25th Anniversary Copperhead with the poor outlook on vehicle re-releases. Hopefully both his crotch and his figure size will allow him to sit in an old Cobra Water Moccasin or else he’s practically worthless. Damn it. I just realized I don’t have one of those cool ass boats yet… I guess I know what my next eBay purchase is.
Duke and Red Star

In Communist Russia the battle half knows YOU! Crappy jokes aside, if you dig the Russian counterparts to the Joes, you’ll want this set. Me? Not so much. Big hats just don’t do it for me.

I dig the backpacks in the first set and Shipwreck looks pretty cool with that dorky life preserver but I’m not sure any of these are worth bothering with.
I like the idea of the comic two packs in this line and Star wars but half the time they have garish paint jobs to “match” the comic (which usually they don’t). Also in the case of Star Wars, the comic packs have poor articulation. Thankfully Joes are pretty standard.

Damn, it’s all about the backpacks with Storm Shadow. And the whole sweet-ass ninja thing.
