G.I. Joe 25th: Wave 6
Remember last week when I said a week doesn’t go by without more G.I. Joes? I wasn’t lying, because Big Bad Toy Store put up some images of Wave 6. Here they are if you haven’t had a chance to see them yet.
Cobra Commander (Battle Armor)

I sometimes think that G.I. Joe was on it’s way downhill as soon as Cobra Commander donned this teal and silver armor. I mean, it’s one pretty big step away from the line’s military roots. Still, this is a rad figure and a must have for me.
Rock and Roll

While Rock and Roll looks pretty kick ass, I think I’ll pass him up. He only became interesting when he strapped on about three hundred pounds of machine guns and ammo in the 90s. He’s also the one of my favorite characters on the NES G.I. Joe game. You can’t beat a good spread shot, no sir.
Torpedo

Torpedo here looks friggen sweet. Now they need to start making other diving based figures… Undertow complete with barracuda perhaps? Please?*
This wave also contains some carry overs from previous waves, so if you’ve missed Serpentor, Red Ninja, Beach Head, or Snake Eyes (hah) then there will be more in stores for you. You might be wondering why on Earth Snake Eyes is included in this wave. A reader named Rick asked me this and my answer is that it is becoming apparent that Hasbro believes that Snake Eyes is the Darth Vader of G.I. Joe. Darth Vader is always hanging out on toy shelves because he’s a hot character that kids will always want. Whether or not this strategy is working remains to be see. Me, I don’t give a crap as long as they keep making other figures.
If you’re wondering the case breakdown is as follows: 2 Armored Cobra Commanders, 1 Torpedo, 1 Snake Eyes, 1 Roadblock, 1 Red Ninja, 1 Serpentor, 1 Beach Head
*Interesting side note: My fiancee is for some reason enamored with Undertow. She pretty much claimed the one I own for herself and I can’t figure out why. I think my constant talk about G.I. Joe has negatively affected her brain.

Will the horrid articulation be fixed by the time these are released? ‘Cause lordy, that Cobra Commander is wicked…

The original Rock and Roll was my first figure. This one looks like his beard is taking over.

Depends on what you mean by “horrid.” If you mean, say, “useful,” then by all means let’s hope not.
Rock and Roll doesn’t have a chin behind his beard. There is merely another machine gun…

Rock and Roll doesn’t give a sh%t about military regulations governing facial hair because he’s rocking a frigging M60, yo.
Does this Cobra Commander remind you of a shinier version of an underwater Cobra trooper (for which I cannot remember the name)?

Cobra Commander looks like an elite unit clone commander from star wars man.

KLS, it could be the other way around considering Cobra Commander had this battle suit in the 80s.

Paul, yeah you’re right, it prolly is the otherwise!
It looks sweet nontheless, and based on what I wrote earlier, he is a must-get for me.
Also, do you review each figure in a wave? It’ll be easier to track what figs are out there. Alternatively, do you know of any site that really catalogs the 25th aniv series, just like what rebelscum is to SW, any of joes?

Hey KLS, I don’t have an ultimate check list or anything like that, but I’d check out YoJoe.com. They keep pretty damn good track of all the figures.
