G.I. Joe at SDCC Part 1
Now that I’ve gotten the requests out of the way, it’s time to geek out on one of my passions, G.I. Joe. Hundreds of eager folks crowded the Hasbro booth and many of them were drawn to the new 25th Anniversary Joes and the appearance by none other than Sargent Slaughter himself. For me though, it’s all about the toys so seeing a case full of vintage A Real American Hero toys was a welcome sight:

Now let’s get to what we’ve all been waiting for, 25th Anniversary Joe goodness.

That, my friends, is a kick ass Firefly. I want.

They can’t make a Flint without a Lady Jaye. I always had a thing for Jaye, but I’m not really sure about her toy form. I was always more of a cartoon Lady Jaye fan. How could you not love a woman with a sexy voice and could save you from drowning with a special oxygen bubble javelin?

Zartan is back and better than ever. He comes with his “disguise” face and he even changes color a bit.

What could would Zartan be without his grape soda drinking minions? Buzzer joins the ranks of the 25th Anniversary line as the representative for Zartan’s Dreadnok toadies.

Beach Head makes a return to G.I. Joe. Cool character, but crappy name.

Shipwreck showed up with his best friend and annoying parrot Polly. Unlike Popeye, Shipwreck’s power comes from preggo porn. Hey, don’t judge! He’s a veteran!

Hasbro keeps rolling out the Storm Shadow variants, but this one might be really worth it. This “Red Ninja” is a remake of a Argentina only Storm Shadow variation with the name of Satan. Yeah, that aint going appear on the package here in the states.

Love him or hate him, Serpentor makes it into the 25th Anniversary line. I actually like Serpentor, but I’m not sure about this figure. I’ll reserve judgment until I’m in the toy aisle though. I think a golden chariot would have gone a long way to make him a must buy.

Let me taunt you with the exclusive convention Pimp Daddy Destro, which you don’t have unless you had a hook up at the con, paid a fortune on eBay, or got them when they were online for a very brief period of time.

Oh I see, you thought Hasbro was done with repaints and variants. Just to prove you wrong this is the next five figure set planned which features some Cobra badassery.
That’s all of the 25th Anniversary figures I’ve got for now, but that’s not the end of the G.I. Joe awesome by far. Look for another quick update showing some of the custom figures Hasbro had on display.
*Thanks to Shawn for providing some pics. Which pics? Oh, all the ones that didn’t suck.

Too bad they didn’t make more Pimp Daddy Destros. I definitely would have ordered one of those. Can’t wait for Part 2.

I’m STRONGLY considered collecting Joes again. Unfortunately, the ones had during my youth met their demise one summer afternoon amidst a barrage of b-b’s and M-80’s.
They were all very brave. *salutes*

The problem with exclusives is that most of the time they rock and you can never get one except through a scalper.
.
krpykrwly, take the plunge and collect Joes! I pity the ones you get though. You’re like that kid next door in Toy Story.

Hey, what happened to your Part 2 coverage?? It disappeared.
Also did you hear they are doing a Rowdy Roddy Piper exclusive for Joe Con?? Of course he will probably be impossible to get.

XeQuae, consider that a sneak peak. I accidentally posted it on the wrong day and because I blog with a network I have to have so many posts mon-friday. Well, I had to take it down, because otherwise I wouldn’t have enough posts. It’s lame, but I only have so much time for the blog now.
.
Yes, I did hear that. Expect my little news announcement on Monday… I think.

What was the name of the one female GI Joe ninja? Was it Jynx??
I’m sad they didn’t say they were releasing new Street Fighter 2 GI Joe’s….oh wait….no I’m not..

@Unleaded Logic
Yes, it was Jynx. She’s rocks socks.
New Street Fighter Joes? What a random comment. I can’t tell if you’re a Street Fighter fan or not. Only a few of those were really any good, as in actually looking like the SF2 characters: Dhalsim, Sagat, and a couple of the movie versions. Plus, there were Van Damme figures that could fight Cobra with roundhouse kicks while spouting off unintelligible one-liners.

Did anyone else ever find it concerning that the “Master of Disguise” only had one mask?
