G.I. Joe Resolute Boxy Goodness

Images of the G.I. Joe Resolute box set are now out and hot damn, do
In the tradition of Hasbro doing something because it’s worked before comes a G.I. Joe Resolute box set, which is similar to the 25th Anniversary sets that were responsible for me being addicted to G.I. Joe again.

I’ll admit it, the figures look bad ass. Playing on the updated, yet familiar look first seen in the singled carded Resolute figures (of which I’ve seen only one stinking Duke in the store) this box set has a Cobra Commander, a B.A.T., two Cobra Troopers, and a Duke. Oh yeah, there’s also some bigger, spring loaded weapons in there that look like they are geared for the kid crowd.

This is pretty special, because it marks the only time I’ve ever thought a Duke figure is pretty cool. This Duke comes with a helmet and a jet pack so you can pretend he’s a much cooler character than Duke. The B.A.T. repaint included in the pack is a simple repaint, but what a simple repaint! His new colors increase his badassitude at least by a factor of ten, if not more. And hot damn those Cobra troopers look awesome. Like I said before, I haven’t had the pleasure of ever seeing one in the store so I hadn’t really seen what the looked like before.

Guess who is going to be using up an employment check on toys!? Okay, not me, but I’m sure some dumb ass will.

I will get this set, and really only for the duke. I have 10 bats all ready, but as jazzed as people are about the cobra troopers design I think that they are okay, but I have so many of the old style that I’m not going to even attempt to build with these, I’ll probably trade them off to somebody for something I want. but I’m going to definately keep the duke. I’m going to probably change the head on him and make another MASK team member with it. Wich guy drove the indy car that changed into a plane?

I’d be more interested in Resolute if they would air the cartoon.

I took a duke figure, painted the hair and eyebrows brown, sanded down the backpack things on the back of the figure and glued a modified marauder knife instead.

    I also hate duke

This is a skip for me. I am just not feeling the Duke and I have enough Bats to last me awhile. The CC doesn’t do much for me either. So there will be one on the shelves in the Bronx if anybody wants it. =)

@crazyfellow1: the one in this pack, or the original resolute Duke?

Ah-ha, so YOU’RE the reason I can’t find any BATs!
