Boredom Breaker Sunday: G.I. Joe vs. The Thing

by Paul

For this installment of the highly infrequent and oft forgotten Boredom Breaker Sunday, there’s a toy related video that’s been making the rounds on the interwebs lately and it’s quite fantastic. In fact, it’s goddamn cool. It’s a music video by a band called Zombie Zombie and it’s an homage to John Carpenter’s version of The Thing using G.I. Joe figures. I say homage, because it isn’t a direct rip of the film using Joes, rather it’s a new story of sorts.

This video is kick ass in a variety of dimensions, but one of the things that really brings it to the next level of greatness is the super high production values. It looks like a real friggen movie. The cool electronic soundtrack doesn’t hurt either. I’d even dare to say that it’s a hell of a lot better than John Carpenter’s shitty music. Oh yeah, I went there.

Thanks to: Nick from Texas

Wow. Stunning. I’ve followed 3&3/4″ dios for a long time and this is one of the best. . .if not the best. The animation is SO smooth! And when I saw the arcade game I freaked. Very impressive.

  4. Toyrant Says:

Omg, that’s awesome! I wonder if my G.I. Joes do that while I’m sleeping…

Gasp! John Carpenter’s shitty music? Blasphmey. Besides Ennio Moricone did the score for “The Thing”,not Carpenter.
