He-Man!
Mattel semi-recently let He-Man fans know that both the new He-Man and Beast Man figures will be delayed. The reason is quality control. In order to provide a sculpt of the new He-Man line that is reminiscent of the old lines, they had removable armor. Apparently it sucked, so they are now re-engineering the He-Man figures to have armor that clasps on their backs.
I also saw that there’s a poll up on He-Man.org asking collectors when or if they’ll buy the figures. It seems like there’s a segment of the He-Man collecting community that isn’t happy with the current state of the He-Man revamp. They want more of the 2002 He-Man line styled figures and not the vintage. Personally, I welcome back an updated vintage line and not the over-the top 2002 line, but what do I know? I’m not really in the target audience since I’m very selective with my He-Man purchases.
Anyway, I’m interested to hear what you guys think. Do you like the updated vintage line or would you want to see a more 2002 look? Or do you not care at all?

I love the new line. Yes, the price is steep, but when comparing them to other action figures, I think of them as being more like Sideshow’s stuff than a mass market figure line like DCUC.
I keep meaning to write a good lengthy post on this topic…

I also like the new, updated vintage line. I just a post on the cool, new Stratos.
I could use a new Moss Man. Mine doesn’t have that pine tree scent anymore.

I think the new line is great, but then I really liked the old line as well. Still, the price is just stupid. Yes, I realize these are limited production and therefore cost more, but they could be widely released. In fact, if Mattel hadn’t dropped the ball with the 2002 line it might still be going strong. There certainly wasn’t a lack of interest.

I would like to see some of the missing characters from the 2002 line released. I’m not really into the new line, it just seems like a step backward. I hope it succeeds for anyone who is interested though.

You chose to picture Beast-Man, literally THE ONE figure who looks better in the “new vintage” style.
The 2002 series FTW!

I say bring on the new line! I was a big fan of the 2002 line, and I still am. However, I feel that it has run its course and the time is now for MOTUC!

2002, by far. Imagine if GIJoe’s TFAC line insisted on having the big pumpkinheads the original figures did, or if TF Classics chose to mimic the visual style of the old toys, just with more articulation. Once again, Mattel misses the point of one of their boys’ lines…

The Transformers Classics are hit and miss. They need better more real life alt modes like the 80’s. I liked the 2002 series but really like the classics….but 2002 Beastman is so cool…I really want the Classics but £40 a figure including postage to UK is expensive.

He-Man looks better.
Beastman looks better.
Merman looks better.
The only figure thus far shown that 2002 has that’s “better” is Skeletor… And it’s not like the MOTUC Skeletor is bad.
