How ’bout Some Hot Stratos and Mer-Man Action?
Continuing the He-Man related news this week (mostly because I have nothing else), He-Man.org has gotten new pictures of the next figures in the Masters of the Universe Classics line; Stratos and Mer-Man. Stratos is… well Stratos:
I suppose if you dig this character you should like this sculpt. I’ve never really cared much for this guy, but I’m sure it’s someone’s most fond toy of all time.
Mer-Man is kind of interesting because he comes with not one, but two heads. I guess the second head is from the image of how he looked on his packaging or something. I’m not too sure, all I know is he’s hideously ugly while still being pretty cool looking.
While these are nice selections for a He-Man fan, I’m still awaiting my top picks. Come on, Mattel give us a She-Ra!

I used to work for a crappy mall music store, and once they shipped me out to take apart a store that was closing. Nowhere near as much stuff as you would think was boxed up and shipped out: huge piles of things were destroyed. Piles of candy, magazines, and toys, among other merchandise. They couldn’t be sold, but the douchebag managers wouldn’t let anyone just haul off with them, either. (There was a reason for this, but of course, it’s utter douchebaggery.)
The 2002 MOTU Stratos was the one figure I saved, buying him before the carnage started. I’m not a big He-Fan or anything, but Stratos depresses the hell out of me now, like a disaster survivor or something…

Stratos was always a favorite of mine in the original line, but the 2002 version left me cold. So, so cold. I think it was his lack of proper ball-joint shoulder articulation (and the repainted colors on the Sky Strike Stratos, which did have ball-jointed shoulders).
The MOTUC Stratos brings back that good ol’ feeling. And I love that Mermy comes with two heads.
