I Have All The Snarves
I have all the Snarves (plural of Snarf). Don’t believe me? Well feast your eyes on this:

What you see there is 100 Snarf pencil grippers/toppers. Here’s an up close view:

Why do I have all these Snarves? Well, after selling some toys on Dinosaur Toy Vault I thought that I might want to find other stuff that I could sell. I ran across a wholesaler and I got a great deal on all the Snarf pencil toppers ever. I don’t think it’s crazy to think other people would want a Snarf from Thundercats pencil topper, considering the Thundercats was one of the coolest cartoons in the eighties. In fact, I think I should share my Snarf wealth, so I’m going to give away Snarves to friends and family as well as to five of you awesome readers!
If you want a groovy Snarf pencil topper all you have to do is leave a comment below telling me which Thundercats character is your favorite and why. If you’ve switched favorite characters throughout your life, I’d actually rather hear which one you liked when you were a kid. Five random, lucky people will get their hands on their own Snarf. Be sure to leave your actual email when you leave a comment!
The winners will be announced sometime next week. If you don’t happen to win, you could always buy one from Dinosaur Toy Vault for cheap. It’s not like I don’t have a lot of them…

Lion-O, of course. After all, he wears a powder-blue unitard, and his “sword” grows when he says “ho.”

Panthro.
1. The spikes and bald head make him easily identifiable as the badass of the ‘Cats.
2. Created and drove the ThunderTank - one sweet pice of machinery.
3. He was a black dude. Belee dat.
4. Fought with CLAWED nunchuks and if he felt frisky he could freeze your ass or set it aflame. Those are called ‘options’.

Tough one… this was always one franchise I really liked as a team.
Snarf was my favorite as a kid. I really liked Garfield at the time, as he was funny then, and Snarf was similar. I didn’t find him annoying like many of the other sidekick/comic relief type characters.
Snarf. Snarf.

Uh, um…shit. I’ve never watched Thundercats. (In my defense, I’m apparently old.) What was the girl’s name? Tigra? No, that’s the Marvel Legend I’m never going to find…let’s just say the girl one, OK?
June 9th, 2009 at 11:58 am
googum, her name is Cheetara.
June 9th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
Googum, you have to say why you like her in order to qualify.
June 9th, 2009 at 1:56 pm
Cheetara, well because I’m pretty sure she was my first boy-girl thing. I can’t be alone in that … right?

i’m gonna agree with everything Larry Joe said. Panthro is the Samuel Jackson of the Thundercats. i did though almost have the chance to meet the lady who did Pumyra’s (? is that right) voice. she did a show at the theatre my wifey works at.

I can say with all honesty that this was the last thing I was expecting to see today.

@LamartheRevenger
Panthro made the Thundertank out of the wreckage of their spacecraft in less than 22 minutes. His pimp hand was strong.

Panthro was my favorite. Mumra was cool too.
June 9th, 2009 at 3:02 pm
Oh I liked panthro because he was sort of into martial arts along with the fact he drove all the cool vehicles.
Mumra was cool too because he had an awesome look and power.
June 9th, 2009 at 5:01 pm
As a kid Lion-O was everyone’s favorite. But my favorite of the bunch was Panthro and his awesome nunchakus and martial arts skills. Panthrohe was the McGuyver of the show, building anything and everything, including awesome vehicles!

“As a kid Lion-O was everyone’s favorite. But my favorite of the bunch was Panthro…”
Every kid I knew cited Panthro as his favorite, if only for the nunchucks.

Monte, Panthro is the Michelangelo of the Thundercats.

I’d have to say Bengali was my all time favorite. He was definitely the coolest of the “newer” Thundercats, heck he even fixed the Sword of Omens once. I’m probably in the minority in choosing him since he probably got the least amount of screen time, but that’s fine by me. As a kid I honestly think I liked him because of his looks, but I’ll stick with my pick. I like supporting the underdog.

My favorite was always Mumm-Ra. Kinda obvious choice , I guess, but I thought he was super-cool. I’ve always had a fascination with the old Universal monster movies, and Mumm-Ra had the Boris Karloff kinda mummy thing going for him. Plus, with his blue skin and mystical powers, I figured he had to be Skeletor’s brothwer! We didn’t have much money when I was a kid, so the only toyline I was able to collect most of was Masters of the Universe. From other lines like Thundercats, I was only able to get one or two figures, so everyone had to have a place with my MOTU universe when I played with them. Hence, Mumm-Ra was Skeletor’s brother, and had his own group of villains who would sometimes collaborate with Skeletor.

I was a big fan of Tygra and his Bad-@ss whipmasteriness. Invisibility is a plus too.

I am a HUGE ThunderCats fan and far and away my favorite ThunderCat is Cheetara. As a youngin’ I used to run circles around my house as fast I could while holding whatever pole or stick I could find to be my Cheetara staff. I would even try an imitate the brisk sound FX you hear on the cartoon when she runs! I loved the fact that I was blonde and had freckles because I felt maybe I would one day grow up to be a cheetah-like Thunderian myself. Instead, I just grew up to be a slightly nerdy, but agile and fit, gay man! I still love ThunderCats, and draw them all the time. (I’m an illustrator and I am sure the ThunderCats cartoon had a very large impact on me choosing this career path). I’d LOVE a mint Snarf pencil topper to adorn my pencil while I sketch more ThunderCats. Thanks for the great blog. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

ThunderCat78, perhaps the winds of fortune will blow your way and I hope they do. That’s the most awesome story ever.
Keith! So good to see you!
June 10th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Bengali… although most of the thundercats were eccentric to whatever personal extent… the hammer and the accent really tops it off when it comes to Bengali

Mumm-Ra. Evil Pure and Simple. I’ve always enjoyed Mumm-Ra. Ever since I was a wee little kid, the coolness factor for this character was always off the charts for me. First off he was a decrepit mummy and that alone was cool enough, but then he would transform into this huge monster with egyptian style apparel and had a wicked-cool scary looking tomb. I like Mumm-Ra so much, the only Thundercats toys I have are just the Mumm-Ra ones (both Mumm-Ras and Mumm-Mutts and the Tomb)

ThunderCat78, your drawings kick serious ass.

I live in a snarf-free world and (since I missed them, possibly due to my location, possibly due to my vast age) am not putting my name in the hat. I just wanted to say, though, how much fun I’m having reading the comments!
June 11th, 2009 at 4:21 am
I’d have to say Cheetara is my favorite Thundercat followed very closely by Pumyra and Chilla. Okay fine, Thundercats in the 80’s coupled with FX’s airing of the 60’s Batman show in the early 90’s followed by the 90’s Jim Balent Catwoman comic run is WHY I have a catgirl fetish.
So basically I love all the very legal, very sexy Thundercatgirls. Rrrowl. What I wouldn’t give to be Snarf just to be around them. Sure I woudln’t be able to get any from them but hey I’m not any closer to getting them now.
Okay maybe if a cosplayer girl was drunk and I was a con, but that would also hold true if Snarf was alone with an inebriated Cheetara/Pumyra.
This post is very sad.

Of course, it was Lion-O. Who knows why? Probably because he was the star, and the leader, and had the cool glove and sword and that wacky hair. Can’t be beat.
June 11th, 2009 at 11:20 am
My fav is Panthro. I dig bald guys, with or without spikes. That’s optional.
June 12th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
Do I still count in “friends and family” or do I have to try and win one of these snarfing snarfers? Regardless, my favorite Thundercat when I was young was Cheetara because she was the main female Thundercat. I realized at a young age that hot girls of any kind were very good things, which has creepily carried over today. Over the years, as I watched Thundercats reruns and DVDs, my favorite has become Lynx-o. He’s like the old sensei of Thundercats and had a cool seasoned look to him. He was also blind, but could be just as ass-kicking, if not more so because of his handicap, as the rest of the ‘cats.

Shawn, you’ll get a Snarf, but thanks for the story anyway!
June 16th, 2009 at 11:34 pm
Mine as a kid was Cheetara. Why? Because she had a Bo staff. Yep, that’s the only reason why. Isn’t that lame?
June 17th, 2009 at 6:46 am
Cheetara gave me pre-boner boners. Just saying.
Vulture-Man was probably my favorite though. Why? Because I had his toy forever and he ended up in about a billion plots as a result of it.
