Indiana Jones at San Diego Comic Con 2007

by

The news that Indiana Jones toys were coming out was first met with awe, then shock, then tears of joy, then a little bit of a moment where there was some sort of strange, unexplainable itch behind the eye, then utter bliss. Let me tell you, seeing the figures at Comic-Con was awesome and made me wish all the more that I could claim the new figures as my own.

One of the coolest things in the Hasbro booth was a replica of the Ark of the Covenant, and man was it sweet looking:

Sadly, many nerds either burst into flame or melted when their curiosity got the best of them.

Indiana and the two other figures shown in the familiar Star Wars and G.I. Joe 3 3/4ths scale were looking particularly awesome. What’s even better is that it looks like we can expect figures from all the films, not just the upcoming one with the elderly version of Indiana Jones. The figures were standing on top of a scale South American style pyramid. Damn, why can’t they make this as some sort of a playset? Also, please note that neat looking twelve inch Indiana leaning on the pyramid:

Here’s the three inch figures closer up:

If there is a God, there will be a Short Round figure.

The other Indiana Jones figures on display were Galactic Heroes style, because Hasbro just loves doing line extensions.

That’s all the Indiana Jones action I spotted. If anything more comes up, you know I’ll be up on it like a bull whip on Nazi asses.

Those all look pretty cool. Plus Sideshow is making 12″ figures. Can’t wait to see their 12″ Indy.

And Short Round is a definite must.

Ah the Ark of the Covenant…..if only you could of seen the face of my 3rd grade youth minister when I asked him if anyone in the Bible had their face melted off because they opened the Ark.

I still to this day almost pee my pants thinking about how dumb founded he looked when I asked him, I guess he had never seen the movies before.

  3. Great White Snark Says:

Where’s the bad guy from Temple of Doom holding a little plastic heart in his hand?

    Must. Have. Short Round.

  4. Paul Says:

    Unleaded, great great story.

GWS and X, I’m really glad that I’m not the only one that wants Short Round. Let’s hope that Hasbro reads Toy Bender.
