Indiana Jones Packaging Designs?

by

This last week Cool Toy Review posted images of packaging designs for the upcoming onslaught of Indiana Jones merchandise from the upcoming film Indiana Jones IV: Indiana Jones and the Crystal Vagina Pirates. It’s not known if this packaging is the final deal, or what it is exactly for, but it doesn’t look to bad. In fact, it looks quite snazzy. I don’t get to use the word ’snazzy’ in a sentence too terribly often so I’m laying it down here. Snazzy.

I really like the color scheme of this proposed packaging. It has a nice and clean classic look. I’m not so sure of the prominence of the whip or the way it kind of curls up like and down like a snake. Yeah, I just turned into that incredibly horrendous geek that’s picky about something so benign as packaging. I realize that I’m becoming what I hate. What do you guys think about it? Anything? Or does it matter because you’ll just toss it in the garbage after greedily tearing it open to get to your figures? As a primarily in the package guy, the look of this stuff really influences whether or not I’ll be more apt to leave it displayed on my wall or buried in some box to only sold on eBay later.

To see all the pictures, be sure to click here to head on over to Cool Toy Review. Be sure to tell them I sent you. I’m not sure what that will exactly accomplish, but it would be nice if you did. I get kind of lonely sometimes.

I will be overwhelmed and giddy the first time I see proper Indy toys in a store.

…and I’ll be sick of it by the time I’m at the other end of the aisle; we’re gonna have the old bastard plastered on everything from Band-Aids to bedsheets, and I suspect it’ll come to feel rather unfortunate pretty quickly, like he’s lost some of his mystery…

I’m a fan of good product packaging, and this looks like a winner. Love the “whip” treatment.

Hasbro always ends up with about five entires competing against one another in our ToY Awards’ Best Packaging category, and this already looks like an early contender for next year…

The bottom of the package reminds me of a snake…Indy nor I would approve…

    Snakes are bad..

You may be interested to know that Hasbro did not design this packaging. See creativepilot.com.

  7. yo go re Says:

Well, they didn’t design any of the other ones, either, but it’s still their packaging…
