Jetfire in Transformers 2… Kinda Strange

All right I know some of you have a big problem with revealing characters that will be in Transformers, but too bad. This is a blog dealing with pop culture and toys and if you want to avoid super minor spoilers you should probably stick to knitting blogs until the movie comes out. However I will respect the other part of the spoilery Jetfire stuff, so that’s after the break.

There’s something strange about this Jetfire toy from Transformers: Rise of the Fallen that you’ve probably noticed. He’s not only old, but he has a cane. I know that some fans have probably lost their minds over this. Me, I have this to say:

It’s not beyond the source material to have something like an old robot with a cane.

Think about it for a moment. Out of all the stupid shit seen on the original Transformers cartoon is a robot with a cane any more stupid than that? No, not really. However, the issue I have is that Jetfire as a character isn’t really known for being super old and decrepit. This seems like another case of taking a character in a film and slapping a fan favorite name on them just because.

Who knows though? Maybe Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen is the Casablanca of giant transforming robot films.

    An old man transformer with a cane is pure win. I might actually buy one, and I don’t collect Tformers at all, just because it’s so awesome, and so guaranteed to make fanboys cry.

    3. Are you saying Jetfire doesn’t have a cane in the new movie? I think that can prove itself.
