Lazy Post Friday: I’m out of Stuff
Woot, it’s Friday! And while I may be out of items to post you and I’m working really hard at the moment (really, I’m just waiting for a report to run) I decided to do a mostly non-toy related post that is nothing at all like something Poe Ghostal does.
1. With all the years coolest games coming out this time of the year are there any that you’re looking forward to or already have? My wish list includes Gears of War 2, Left 4 Dead, and Fallout 3 just to name a few.
2. Does anyone else listen to This American Life? I love it so.
3. It’s Friday and you know what that means? Clone Wars! It might not be the greatest cartoon on the planet, but it’s pretty damned good. I can’t wait until I’m able to purchase it on Blu-Ray so I can enjoy it in HD goodness.
4. G.I. Joes are now five bucks at most Targets. Good luck finding any good ones though.
5. Orson Scott Card is going nuts again. Sigh, I used to love that guy.
6. I just finished Thinner. My goal of reading every single Stephen King book gets closer to completion, especially since he doesn’t write ten new ones a year now. What’s interesting about the novel is that while I didn’t like the ending very much, I also couldn’t see any other ending being possible. Neato.

*rant ahead*
Number five thyar is almost like some mathematical constant in entertainment:
The populatrity of any given science-fiction author is inversely proportional to their desire to build a sociopolitical soapbox.
I don’t care if you’re Heinlein or Hubbard. Shut the hell up and write yer damn fiction. You’re all ladder-jumping based on your artistic fame and fronting like we didn’t notice that fact.
Mr. Card? I’d like you to meet Mr. Franken. End of discussion. You’re all surfing on what you’re known for, rather than what you really know.
NOTE: The only exception to this rule is of course. . .Michael Crichton, who’s life already had substantial meaning before he was ever published. He wasn’t pen-dependent. =)
