Lego’s Big Daddy Supreme: The Millennium Falcon

by Paul

One of the biggest bits of news to come out of the ‘07 New York Toy Fair is Lego’s new version of the iconic Star Wars craft, The Millennium Falcon. This time around this time it’s called the Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon, and for good reason as it is both ultimate and for serious collectors.

As you can see this sucker is big (click here for more pictures). This set is Lego’s biggest set ever coming in with 5,000 pieces. There is no way you’d be able to set yourself down and expect to be done building this sucker in an afternoon, unless you’re one of those globetrotting pro-builders that gets all the young Hollywood starlets. The official stats of the final build are, “33.1 inches long x 22.2 inches wide x 8.3 inches high.” In other words, this set is huge. The best part of this enormous set is that it is to scale with the mini-figures. Imagine the dioramas you could create with this beast. (Check out the full press release on Sir Steve’s Guide)

Since any decent sized Lego set can carry a hefty price tag, you’re probably guessing that this thing is going to hit the pocket book pretty hard. Well, you’d be right. The suggested retail price for the Falcon is a whopping 499.99 bucks. If you are determined to spend the cash, here’s Lego’s direct link to the item. Please note that there is a strict limit of five per customer.

The only thing I can point out that I don’t like about this set (besides the insane price) is that it only comes with five mini-figs: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa. For five hundred bucks they could at least throw in a few Storm Troopers and a bottle of champagne.

    I think I just had a lego-gasm…..

  2. Gayle Says:

Gee, I wonder if it’s possible to put this thing on layaway until next Christmas? Or maybe buy it on the installment plan? If Lego keeps putting out these huge sets, they’ll need to set up a financing department!

  3. Keith Says:

I’m really just waiting for the life size replica for my back yard….

  4. Paul Says:

    A. You must have a big back yard. B. Can I come over when you get it? and C. Did you know that there was a life size replica of an Xwing that you could get at one point?

  5. Kezins Says:

I just felt a disturbance in the force when I saw this. I must have this item.
