Make Your Own Muppet!
FAO Schwarz has one of the coolest custom toy-like offerings I’ve ever seen. If you head on over there, you can custom order your own Muppet. The offerings are limited to more realistic people, so that unfortunately means no monsters Cookie or otherwise, but it’s still a pretty cool idea and a must for a Muppet fan.
If there is one thing my wife knows a lot about, it’s would be all things Muppets. She can tell you the name of almost any obscure background Muppet and even give brief histories of said Muppet. She had informed me that while FAO’s Muppets are called Whatnots, they are actually “Anything” Muppets. She then went on to let me know that Elmo used to be an Anything Muppet. That’s right, the great destroyer of Sesame Street had some mighty humble beginnings. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle to destroy Elmo.
I tried two different combinations of Whatnots to test it out and they both came out to be 90 bucks, so I guess that’s the going price. It’s not too bad, considering how much a real Muppet costs. First you’d have to hire an expert hunter, then pay to ship it illegally into the U.S., not to mention all the costs associated with bribing corrupt, third world authorities.
Thanks to Savage of Old Man Musings for posting this initially.

No Elmo character either and you know how popular that is with the kiddies.
