Marvel Universe Rocks Superhero Socks
This couldn’t be a worse year to be broke. First there’s the Ghostbusters toys and now there’s the upcoming Marvel Universe 3 3/4ths inch scale figures that I want so desperately. Aside from the figures that have been shown off before, I was most impressed by this trio of figures in the right side of this image:

By Crom, it’s the Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends! The only figure missing is their stupid dog! It’s like someone at Hasbro has somehow tapped my brain for all the cool things that I like and decided to make a toy based upon those things.
I am also willing to kill a Grandma for this Moon Knight:

Seeing these things again reminds me of how very sad the DC Infinite Heroes figures look in comparison.
Thanks to: Action-Figure.com for the pictures! Go there to see more.
Side Note: If you ever refer to these Marvel figures as “Marvel Puniverse” you deserve a punch in the face.

Paul, I recently got my hands on some of these at a local toy show and they are phenomenal. The articulation and detail were beyond my expectations. They totally blow DC’s IH out of the water, absolutely owns them. Marvel & Hasbro are going all out on this one which I love. I mean, an updated Iron Fist & Moon Night? The best part is how I can finally have Cap & Snake Eyes fighting side by side.

Wow!! Those really turned out awesome!! I don’t know that I’ll be picking them all up, but I’ll definitely be getting my favorites.

I will totally be all in for this line. I won’t necessarily get every single figure (the cartoon accurate figs don’t necessarily thrill me)but my paltry collection of DCIH figs will cease to be added to the moment these arrive on shelves.

I saw these on the shelves at Meijer tonight and they looked great. They were $7.99 though, so I passed for now to see what Walmart has them for. I may run back and pick up Spiderman and Iron Man though.

Someone actually called them “Marvel Puniverse?” Whoever that was deserves to be kicked in the taint by a racehorse…

I picked up Silver Surfer and Johnny Storm. They both have the same body, but they both look great and have a ton of articulation. Plus they look great with Marvel Legends Galactus. The more I see the more I want most of these.

So far all I’ve seen is a wave 1 of the X-Men Origins Wolverine figures. I picked up a Deadpool but I can’t open his ass until my birthday. Poo…

I have yet to see ANY of these. What do you, live on the docks where these are being delivered from China?
February 10th, 2009 at 7:31 am
Well, unless the boat from China is going down the Ohio, I definitely don’t live anywhere near the docks. Probably just one of those times where a smaller regional chain gets their shipment in first.

I actually found these today, except they were 15.99 each

You can’t be seriously crazy. Was it at a convention or something?

I have yet to see these. I’m alotting 1K from my tax return this year for toy purchases. I keep telling myself that i’m only going to buy the costumes I really like. I don’t need 29 spidermen and 53 wolverines. I can do this. but I do need 3 deadpools desperately.

they were at a comic book store in my local mall

Crazy, there you go. Someone thinks they can make a fortune off of them… you know I could see a high mark up like 10 bucks for a small shop, but 16? You’re just being a jerk then.
hrdwrkng: Good luck! I think I’d try that tactic too, though I’d need regular spiderman and cosmic… oh yeah and the black outfit… but that’s it! heh

Okay I picked up X-force Wolverine, Stealth Iron man, Black Panther, DareDevil, and Spidey. I think the new punisher will be better than the one we have now with the HUGE head. But I’m actually very impressed. Also there are three varients of the wolverine that I saw in regards to the number etched on the weapon, ther is a 1, 2, and a 3. But I’m an opener and could care less about variants. I think that flame on Human torch, stealth Iron man, and Bullseye are the varian figures in this wave. Being that each case only comes with one of the 3.
good news is since I did get to look at a fresh case and put it on the peg at the wallywolrd for the nice toy stocker I got to see the breakdown.
2x wolverine
2x spiderman
2x Ironman
1x Black Panther
1x Punisher
1x Daredevil
1x Non-flame Human torch
1x Silver Surfer
1x Alternate Character Black opps ironman, flame on human torch, or bullseye.
I think that the wolverine is one of the best 3.75 figures ever made. The articulation is great, the red sword is kind of lame but the overall detail on the figure is prime.

Oh and retail at Wal-Mart was $8.44 fortunately I don’t have to pay sales tax
