More G.I. Joe Dio Action
Way back when I fell in love with the online G.I. Joe comic book dio thingy called, Whispers of War, I practically made a fool of myself I was gushing so much over it. Well to hell with you, it’s awesome.
Since I very much doubt Whispers of War will ever be finished, there’s a gaping void in my heart where there used to be toys blowing the fug out of each other. Part of this hole has now been filled with the discovery of the dio series, My Brother’s Keeper.

While the story isn’t is as engrossing as it was for Whispers of War, My Brother’s Keeper does have enough action to satisfy and doesn’t have the feeling that it was written by a retarded fan boy, just a G.I. Joe obsessed fan boy and that’s all right in my book. One thing that I did find out is that both stories feature new characters that are ultra-badasses. I’m not sure why the narrative structure in these things has to hinge upon (what I’m assuming) is the author’s extension of their repressed super-ego, since G.I. Joe has so many characters to use that are already compelling enough to be the central protagonists. For example, in both stories Snake Eyes only makes the most brief of appearances before he’s… wait… this is a story featuring pictures of toys. Sorry about that. Stuff blows up real good and there’s some real over the top Rambo stuff, so if you don’t want to think to hard this thing is great.

If you’ve got some downtime and need some sort of toy related diversion, be sure to give this a read. The story isn’t complete yet, but it was updated fairly recently and the author finished some other stories (that I haven’t read yet), so there’s hope that there will be an ending to this thing. Finished or unfinished, it’s still worth checking out. Now if only Whispers of War would finish, I’d be a happy man.
