More Halo Figures Rocking It
I realize that in this day and age or instant electronic gratification that I may be a tad late with this, but just in case you haven’t seen the newest Halo figure reveals, Mr. McFarlane and crew have decided to rock your world yet again. They’ve released new pictures of their sweet, not yet released, Halo series. This time, they threw in a few pics of the alternate Spartan armor that you can unlock in Halo 3. (click on pics to make them bigger)
Do you ever get attached to a certain character model in a videogame when you play as that character over and over? If you do, then you’ll know what I’m talking about when I say that the above Spartan is me and that’s whose killing you on Live if you really suck. If you don’t, then that’s me you’re killing and frustrating the hell out of. This white version is a unnamed retailer exclusive, while the red version (below) will be available at all retailers selling McFarlane Halo toys.
God McFarlane Toys got lucky when it comes to these figures. Not only do they have a super hot license, but Bungie decided to create some alternative armor in Halo 3, meaning McFarlane has a double license to print money. This way there will be more awesome figures, rather than 8 billion slightly different Master Chiefs. The figure above is a Spartan in CQB Armor (Close Quarter Battle). The blue version above is going to be a Wal-Mart exclusive.
This red EVA armored Spartan is going to be available at all retailers. I can’t wait to see the other figures that McFarlane is no doubt cooking up at this very moment.

Here’s a link to my ToyFare interview with Todd about this line: http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/toyfare/005934872.cfm
I will say, these look really good. Even better than the Joyride figures, which personally I liked. I especially want the Grunt two-pack.
Hey TB, send me a friend request on Xbox Live and we can do some team slayer or something (I’m…wait for it…”Poe Ghostal”).
What McFarlane really ought to do is create some “build-a-Spartan” packs with swappable heads, arms and torsos, so you can create your exact game avatar.

stop being such an attention whore.
I like the non-standard armor. Master Chief is a bit played out by now, but I’d probably be willing to buy some variations on the design…

Tut, tut…jealousy doesn’t become you, yo.
I’ll be interested to see if this is successful and whether McFarlane might consider going a bigger piece of the mass market pie.
