Naruto Wants Your Children Dead. Believe It!

A “victim support” group in Australia is calling for a ban of Naruto toys. Why? Because the toys have punching and stabbing motions. Now, I hate Naruto more than a normal person should, but I hate stupid people even more.

The spokesperson for the group, Homicide Survivors Association, Peter Rolfe stated:

“I think there’s a link between playing with these toys and violent behaviour later.

Think?

He also went on to say:

“It doesn’t happen to everyone but it can have an effect on people with problems . . . If they play with toy weapons does it make them more comfortable with real weapons later? At some stage there’s an imprint left on them.”

You know, it’s rare to see this kind of complaint in the toy world. These days video games are the big bad monster that turns children into violent psychopaths. I think the last time a toy was responsible for bringing on the apocalypse was quite a few years ago with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and before that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So what made this group get into a tizzy about Naruto toys? Who knows? Even if his statement (which is backed up with no scientific evidence) is true, the cold hard reality is that anything can be taken the wrong way by someone who is mentally disturbed. It’s impossible to make sure that there is nothing out there that will cause an insane person to act out violently.

Here’s a tip if you’re a parent that is concerned that Naruto toy is turning your child into an enraged killer: It’s not the toy, it’s the parenting and the environment that they grow up in that can turn a kid into a kill crazy machine. Hell, it can be a chemical imbalance that makes someone nutty, but whatever the cause of mental illness, if you are involved in your child’s life then the chances of them becoming violent monsters are certainly lessened. It’s a parents choice to buy a toy and it’s a parents choice to ensure that the message is that killing people is bad gets across. Mattel marketing director Julie Kearns said it best when she responded that, “…it was up to parents whether they wanted their children to own a doll based on the ninja ethos of weapons and defense.”

I grew up in a world filled with Star Wars and G.I. Joe toys. Never have I shot or stabbed anyone to death. I also played with DC Superpowers figures, when you squeeze my legs, I don’t punch you in the face… automatically. We all need to take a step back and not assume that there is an easy answer to problems like violence. You can’t ignore things like chemical imbalances, social issues, or economic reasons, because there is no easy fix like the banning of a toy.

You just reminded me of my old Thundercats toys with the little double a battery ring that made their eyes light up.

  7. Pistolstarter Says:

I think that Naruto dose make children think that they are ninjas and that they have real chakara in their blood. So they will do some jutsu on someone and kill them.

    LOL.

This person, Peter Rolfe, is just plain stupid to say something like that.

    Also. GO MGS!!!!!!!!!!

    @naruto

I love when the retarded can figure out how a computer works long enough to leave an asinine comment. Did you even read the post or did you stop at the first words after realizing that you could never truly comprehend all the strange glyphs laid out before you?

I began a contribution as site for exclusive use of naruto. Please link to this site if I do not trouble you. I intend to publish a related story of naruto serially steadily from now on. Please cheer it.

  13. PJ Says:

I’m still trying to get my head around Naruto and don’t think it’ll happen soon. Even when I wiki or youtube it, I’m left with this “whatever” thought in my head.

BTW, I appreciate you going into topics like this in particular. Not many toy collectors have the sack, much less the nuts, to deal with the “deeper” subjects like this. Keep it up man, you’ve found your special niche within the subculture.
