NECA at San Diego Comic-Con 2007

by Paul

Not content to let other toy companies steal the show, NECA had a ton of great figures in their cases as well. I captured images of some of the best and have them here for you.

First up is the ever popular Castlevania figures. There was of course the popular vampire Alucard and Dracula representing along with Simon Belmont:

There was also some chick who’s a bat, and let’s be honest, most people will only buy her because she has breasts. I’m not sure if she’s showing nips or not, but the blue masking tape over her fun bags is a good indication that we have nippage ahoy.

Speaking of vampires, there were figures from one of the greatest movies of the eighties, The Lost Boys on display. I’m sorry 24 fans, but Kiefer Sutherland could never top the height of acting perfection he reached in this film, nor could the other guy from Bill and Ted.

The other Lost Boys character on display was Michael. If I got this figure the only thing I’d do is say to him, “Maggots, Michael. You’re eating maggots”, until my fiancee stabbed me with steak knife.

Another one of the greatest films of all time is unquestionably Army of Darkness. One of the best scenes in the film, and one that I would have loved to reenact when I worked at Wal-Mart is represented by this Ash figure:

Now I normally don’t cover statues, but this NECA Laura Croft from Tomb Raider was simply fantastic:

Fans of the Resident Evil series will be pleased to see the next wave of undead evilness of evil:

Finally, both God of War and Assassin’s Creed have some figure loving:

Ash looks great. I love how the price tag is on the gun.

That Laura Croft looks pretty amazing. They did such a great job with the pose.

  2. Emma Says:

I can deal with undead fleshy horrors, but thank goodness that tape is protecting me from seeing plastic breasts!! =O

  3. Paul Says:

Emma, we have a problem in the U.S. with boobs. Boobs are great and not offensive, yet its bad to have boobs, but okay to have extreme violence everywhere.

  4. Unleaded Logic Says:

First off, thanks for covering those Castlevania toys, Paul! I’m a huge fan of that game as well. They all look great! I’m hoping series two has Maria and Richter in it. It looks like these are due out in September?

I may have to end up getting two of each, one to keep in its packaging and one to display in my studio.

I wonder how many people asked if the Succubus comes with that tape in the package? LOL.

Those Lost Boys toys are pretty cool, hopefully they don’t make a toy of that annoying saxophone player screaming “I STILL BELIEVE!” from the movie though..
