NECA’s Gears of War Wave Two

by Paul

Not too long ago NECA’s second wave of Gears of War figures was seen at Toy Fair. Well, in honor of the announcement that the game will be released this November I thought I’d put a couple of the pictures of the figs. I also like the game a lot so it was a good excuse as any.

This second wave will consist of super jerk General RAAM, Damon Baird, Dominic Santiago (who is the co-op character for those who want to collect the player characters). Picture courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store:

One figure that showed up at the ‘08 Toy Fair was the sniper version of the Locust that caused a little bit of a stir:

I think after seeing the next picture it should be obvious why there was a bit of a buzz around him. Check out his alternate head courtesy of Action Figure Insider:

Certainly this is gruesome, but it fits the spirit of the game perfectly. I’m almost hoping now that they will release an alternate chainsawed in half body.

Check out the Gears of War Wave One figures here.

Best alternate head ever! I haven’t even played the game and I want that thing…

I’ll say this–gruesome as it is, they did a good job with the splatter.

I don’t know if I’ll be getting any of these, as NECA will already be getting enough of my money with TMNT…but I suspect I’ll break down and at least get a Marcus.

I have a friend who’s waiting for the wussy asthmatic helmet-wearing sniper bait guy. When are they making him?

  3. Paul Says:

Yeah, what’s crazy is the splatter looks just like it does in the game.

No word on that helmet wearing guy will be out. Was it any surprise that the guy that was wearing the helmet happened to die? It was so obvious that they didn’t want to make another character face to waste it.
