New Exclusive Spawn Figure!
Yes, that’ is a “!” in the title. It’s more for you dear readers for me, though. As regular Toy Bender readers know, I’m not all that hip on Spawn and the figures that McFarlane Toys churn out. However, I’m digging on this Spawn. Feast your eyes on this bad boy:

This is Necroplasm Spawn 2 and he will be available exclusively through the McFarlane Toys Collector’s Club with a release date of June fourth. What’s really amazing is that this is an action figure, an honest to god action figure with over 25 points of articulation. Please, Mr. McFarlane Sir, more action in your action figures like this one.
What’s great is it looks like you can get him into a few nifty poses. Check out this awesome pic of Spawn chizzilin on his perch.

’cause it’s Friday; you ain’t got no job… .
The ironic thing (or coincidental, I can’t ever pinpoint true irony after that Alanis Morissette song) is that I pretty much was trying to convince my Spawn collecting roommate, Shawn, that he had to buy this one while I have no plans to buy it myself. I think that my liking of the figure has to do with the fact that I’ve always had some weird fascination with clear figures, he doesn’t. He may purchase it more for the kick-ass base, which I wouldn’t blame him for, but to me the real beauty is in the clearness of it all. While I understand it’s simply green tinted clear plastic, my childish brain screams, “He’s almost like totally invisible! Hammer Time!”*

*No, I didn’t really say “Hammer Time” as a catchphrase in childhood, I only really wish I did.

I’m kinda ‘eh’ about this one. It’s like they decided to give the painters the week off or something. Still, it’s a McFarlane post, so that was noteworthy

Now, THIS is a cool figure, Paul! I’ve always loved the clear figures, too! I’ve never been into Spawn, but I may have to get one of these, just for the coolness factor. If you keep this up, I’m gonna have to quit reading your blog! I see too many things I want and can’t afford!

Hehe thanks Gayle… I think.
.
It’s strange how there’s such a split between clear figure fans and non-clear fans.

Yes, I will be buying the figure for the cool base and I’m always a fan of big capes. Clear figures just don’t do it for me, unless the entire figure were to magically light up with the flick of a switch. Painted figures for life!

Woah, my brain just exploded with the the thought of a light up clear action figure.
