POTF2.com Rumor List: Clone Watch!
POTF.com recently posted a rumor list for the future of 2008 Star Wars figures and it looks sweet so far. The list is as follows:
Obi-Wan (General armor)
Clone Trooper w. quad cannon
Clone Scuba Trooper
Saesee Tiin General
Quarren Soldier
Padme Ilum
Black IG-88 Speeder-Bike Droid
Mon Calamari Warrior
There’s no clone that I’d like more than the Clone Scuba Trooper. He’d be a hell of a lot more than a stupid repaint and make a valuable addition to any clone army.
Unfortunately, if we hop into the Way Back Machine and go to one of the Hasbo Q&As had a question from Action Figs.com that dealt specifically with figures from the first Clone Wars Animated series:
ActionFigs: With the new Clone Wars line coming up, will you be going back to the original series to make figures for characters who didn’t get them, whether or not they appear in this new CGI series? Figures like Holographic Sidious on walking mechano-chair, Scuba Troopers, Space Clone Troopers, Plo Koon in armor, IG Lancer Droid (perhaps with its swoop bike), General Oro Dassyne all would make good candidates from the first series.
Hasbro: When the new series comes out, our attention and focus will shift to that one exclusively and we will not likely be doing any more figures from the first Clone Wars series. It doesn’t mean we won’t look for opportunities from some of the very cool figures you mention, but it becomes much less likely.
It doesn’t bust the bubble of hope completely, but it does lend a large shadow of a doubt that this list is completely fabricated. I for one hope that it isn’t due to the desperate and irrational need I have for a Scuba Clone Trooper.
I’d also love to see a General Obi-Wan in Clone armor that had the armor specifically sculpted on him. I don’t mean to get all crazy with the wishes here, but that was one fine look for good old Ben.

Oh crap in a hat, my Dad is gonna go apeshit over the Scuba Trooper… oddly enough I”m gonna want 2 ’cause I got me the Clone Wars Kit Fisto already.

But the Clone General Obi Wan, thats a no brainer, my family is f’ing star wars obsessed. We have a completely unopened clone army. Some men fish, some drink, my dad MIP army builds.

WHEN the new series comes out. It’s not out yet. There’s still time for Scuba Troopers.
And what’s wrong with the Gen. Kenobi we already have? Removable armor is fun!
