San Diego Comic-Con: Exclusive Bonanza
The pieces are falling into place and I can now officially say that I’m going to be attending the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con. You might be asking yourself what that has to do with toys. Well my friend, it looks like there will be at least a few figure reveals for Hasbro and more importantly, there is going to be a plumber’s ass-load of exclusive figures.
Pimp Daddy Destro
One of the most anticipated figures of the con is Pimp Daddy Destro. PDD has Joe fans begging anyone who is going to the convention to pick them up one. I’m going on Saturday and Sunday and with the demand I’m seeing online, I don’t think I’ll get a chance to even see one. The “limit” on the figures is five, so at least 90% of buyers will stock up on their limit. Making things even more frustrating for collectors is that there are two versions of Pimp Daddy Destro, a gold headed version along with the silver headed version pictured above.
JLU three pack
I’m really pumped for the Hawkgirl in this pack. The other figures that come with her are a bald Jon Stewart Green Lantern and the Ray. I don’t give two craps about either of those figures, but the Hawkgirl is what I need. My lady loves Hawkgirl and what baby wants, baby gets. What’s funny is that she doesn’t like the usual bird masked Hawkgirl. She prefers the Justice League Unlimited track suit costume Hawkgirl like the one in this figure pack. I can’t blame her either, when Hawkgirl had reached this look in Justice League Unlimited she had grown exponentially as a character. Not only that, but the show as a whole had gotten a super charge of ten awesome. The other reason why I need this Hawkgirl is that I’ve been on the look out for it for months. I had seen an image of it ages ago, and I had thought it had already been released. Searches on eBay and toy aisles were in vain and now I find out it’s a convention exclusive. Damn you Mattel! Just let me buy this figure already!
300 “Battle Leonidas”
King Leonidous is now covered in sweat, blood, dirt, and grime! Woot!
Fin Fang Foom
Fin Fang Foom is the Heroclix version of the ancient and powerful dragon in Marvel Comics. There’s only 2,500 of him made and if past Heroclix exclusives are any indication, he’s going to go fast and end up on eBay. Good luck getting your hands on one at the convention too, because he’ll be sold through a lottery system. Oh I forgot one thing, his initial sticker price is ninety bucks. Insane!
McQuarrie Concept Yoda and Obi-Wan
McQuarrie concept completists will want to get their hands on one of these two packs of a really ugly Yoda and a more dignified looking Obi-Wan. Me, not so much.
Alternators Rodimus Prime
Transformers fans won’t be left out in the cold at Comic-con this year. There’s two Transformers available and by far the coolest one is the Rodimus Prime who transforms into a Ford GT, which is about one of the coolest American cars on the planet.
Professor Chaos
I love South Park and my favorite character is Butters. He kind of reminds me of myself in an odd way. As pathetic as that is, it’s true. This is Butters in his Professor Chaos alter ego, ready to cause havoc with one of his nefarious, yet highly silly, plans.
My Little Pony
I couldn’t bring myself not to include this one. For all you female collectors that grew up with My Little Pony or for the guys that wish they were eight year old girls, there’s a Comic-con exclusive My Little Pony figure. She either resembles a super hero or a small child’s acid trip, but either way she’s a winner!
There’s a lot more exclusive action than I can fit into one blog post. To see the rest of the off the hook, unleashed to the max San Diego Comic-Con exclusives, check out this link.

I have to get that Leonidas. It looks so nice. Best movie ever. So you’re going to the comic-con. So am I. Do you live in San Diego or making a trip here just for that.

There are going to be a lot of great exclusives at Comic Con this year. Vampire Jack looks pretty cool and Butters as Professor Chaos is awesome.
Too far for me to go though…

Seeing Hot Rod, I’m glad I decided to get Mirage when I could (seriously, it was a hard decision). I’m just not crazy about the exclusive. Wish they’d released him at retail and did something else for the con.
On the other hand, I’m really looking forward to Menasor. Go figure…
