SDCC Cobra Commander… The Winner!

by Paul

Well after many delays I’ve finally can reveal who the winner of the San Diego Comic Con ‘08 Cobra Commander figure… but let me first play a song from my new album.

But seriously, the grand prize winner is…

David Anderson

While there was a lot of super awesome entries, David’s short story stood out for the judges as being, well pretty cool. I’ll be posting his entry along with some of the other runners up in the coming days, so be sure to keep coming back for some neat stuff. You’ll see for yourself how hard it was to pick out a winner.

Oh, I almost forgot. I’ve decided to throw in a bonus 2nd place prize to Terry Ray Carmoney Jr. for his favorite character piece, because I’m super crazy awesome like that. What’s the prize you ask? Uh, well its whatever extra 25th Joe figure I find lying around my house that hasn’t been opened, so it’s not going to be as cool as a SDCC Cobra Commander, but at least it’s a free bonus prize.

Again, I just wanted to say that I had a great time reading and viewing all the entries. Also now that the contest is over, I can finally reveal the secret cabal of judges. There was Mr. Poe Ghostal of POA, Pete from Fanwank (and POA), Shawn from Digital Monkey Box, Monte from Geek Creek (and Monte Land), and finally my wife from being my wife. Yeah she’s like the smart, attractive, non-shrieking Yoko Ono of the contest… which I guess is the exact opposite of Yoko Ono…

Thanks again to everyone that entered, hopefully I’ll be able to do another contest soon. Ah hem, sponsors, that means you can send stuff to me and I’ll super pimp you to my devoted fans.
