Sideshow Gets G.I. Joe!

In some super exciting news for G.I. Joe fans, Sideshow Collectibles has announced that they are getting the G.I. Joe license to make 12″ scale figures (i.e. fancy man dolls). More details are expected to be revealed at the upcoming Toy Fair. You can see an overly dramatic teaser video here if you feel like watching a bunch of muscle dudes in shadows.
As much as I like the idea of a higher end G.I. Joe toy, I don’t have high end collectible money so I’ll be sweating bullets when the time comes to make the big decision when the release the inevitable Storm Shadow.
What do you guys (and possible gals) think? And what figures do you think would be in wave one? I’m betting on Duke (boring!), Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes v2, and Storm Shadow.

Well, since I’m already trying to collect Sideshow’s 12″ Star Wars figures (as funds allow), I’m not going to be able to afford to collect their G.I. Joe figures, but I’m sure they’ll look awesome. I might try to pick up a few though like Cobra Commander and Snake Eyes.

Unless I need to conserve my funds ’cause they’ve announced the return of Sigma 6 by then, I’m probably all over these muh fuckas.
But I don’t know how I’ll afford them, or where I’ll put them:

I’m not one necessarily a fan of the 12″ scale, but I’d have to wait and see what Sideshow offers. I’d really like to see them come up with some really solid statues and dioramas. Palisades was doing allright, but nothing that made me want to run out and get them. Like many of my generation, I will buy anything SE and SS … it is my curse.

I would only be looking at getting a couple myself, namely stormshadow and snake eyes. In fact, the only 12 inch Joes I’ve ever gotten were the stormy and snake that came out in the 90s… Anyway, I too have no place to put them but if they look kick ass, I’ll have to get them.
