Spiderman 3: Venom Revealed!
Toys based from film properties often give us our first real look at characters from anticipated summer block busters. Spiderman 3 is no exception and a picture of Sideshow Toys’ 12 inch movie version has hit the net in full force:

If this is really what Venom is going to look like, I’m damn excited. He’s not the huge muscular freak with a giant tongue that we all know and love, but he is a great alternate take on the popular villain. Here’s a comparison shot for those of you who aren’t comic book savvy:

The two are different enough to really work in their own mediums. Just imagine how frightening this guy will look on film. It’s a nice change to see something looking so good for a movie you’re looking forward to as opposed to the Transformers live action movie mess.

WTF? Venom is supposed to be huge, it would seem that the figure is being designed to look more like skinny boy Topher Grace who is playing Venom in the upcoming movie. Who ever is casting the Spider-man films should be shot, except for Kirsten Dunst she may be a blond but she definitely makes a cute red head.

Awesome, glad to see you went with one of my tips
Great article and I can’t wait to watch the movie!

Tim, I couldn’t disagree with you more. Dunst is a snaggle tooth. Although, she does look good in a wet t shirt. I like a smaller venom, he’s more realistic in a live action setting.
BB, thanks for the tip. I’d missed this on my business trip!

Kirsten Dunst is just a Plain Jane hence the name Mary Jane. There really isn’t nothing to her ! How do you think Jessica Alba would be as MJ?

I have to go with Paul on this one, I think the adjustment to fit live action is acceptable, as long as he has a little bulk it will play ok. I’m not sure they could pull the Massive Venom off and have it be believable (or as believable as an alien symbiote can be).

Right on Keith. Or… just think about how they’d make him all big and hulking. He’d have to be 100% CGI and that might not look that great.
