Star Wars Evolutions Pack: Darth Vaders SECRET Apprentice
OAFE writer and frequent commenter Yo Go Re recently linked to the Star Wars Evolutions pack featuring Vader’s Apprentice that I hadn’t seen yet. It’s really not surprising that I hadn’t seen this and Yo Go Re had because he knows everything about anything toy related.

What’s notable about this set is the evolution arc of the so far unnamed Apprentice (I’m betting on Raven McDarkclaw). The set starts out with him in his apprentice outfit and then as a Sith Lord. How is that even possible that he turns into a Sith Lord? He sure as hell looks cool, but isn’t there some rule about twos with the Sith that this completely invalidates? Finally, you have the apprentice as a Jedi knight… who I’m guessing is a Jedi for about five seconds before he’s killed off. Unless he’s running around the background the entire original trilogy and Obi-Wan and Yoda are completely unaware of him, I can’t see his continued existence in the Star Wars universe beyond the story in the game.
When he’s killed off, I’m hoping its from Darth Vader. There hasn’t been enough Darth Vader killing dudes action for my taste, but in this respect I feel like I’ll be disappointed. I’m sure that Mr. Secret Apprentice will be killed doing some super heroic act of heroism. Perhaps he could have a moon fall on him after he’s saved some dumb children. Ooops, that one is taken…

Kind of cool looking, but I’m just not really into much of the expanded universe.

They’re taking a few too many liberties with this “Vader’s apprentice” thing. He better well die in the game.

Yep, he dies. As for the rule of two, that was (re)implemented by Darth Bane and, while it is Sith doctrine, it’s not necessarily an unbreakable rule. There can be many Sith lords, but Bane, through reading the teachings of ancient Sith lords, realized that it is best to have two Sith, one to wield the power and one to crave it.
Wow, I feel really nerdy now.
