Stop! Tots Time
With the lack of children in the house, it makes it a little easier for the wife and I to spend a little extra on toys to donate for kids. We got together our pile this year and in the spirit of bragging about how good we are, I thought I’d share them here:
- Zartan because he’s cool and he comes with a vehicle. Kids won’t know or I think care that it’s not “the right size.”
- Cobra Python Patrol Officer: One of the best Christmases I ever had in terms of gifts involved receiving two Python Patrol figures. Naturally, I’d want to give someone a new Python Patrol figure.
- Barbecue: What kid doesn’t like firemen? Unless a fireman killed their family, all kids love firemen!
Combat Heroes Snake Eyes, Zartan, and Timber: I love this set because it comes with that tiny Timber who helps with knives.
- Indiana Jones: I bought this on the theory that kids like Mutt Williams. I hope that I’m right.
- Clone Wars Captain Rex: Captain Rex is just all around cool and he makes a kick ass action figure.
- My Little Pony: What kind of people would we be if we didn’t give out one of the biggest girl’s toys of the ’80s? Terrible people.
- Vespa w/ Barbie: My wife thinks that this gift is a great one because not only do you get a rad Vespa scooter, you also get a Barbie doll. I tend to agree.
- Play-doh: What kid doesn’t like Play-doh? The smell alone is worth the purchase/gift.
- Hannah Montana Doll: I hear that the kids like Hannah Montana. I’m guessing this is true because half of the merchandise aimed at girls in Wal-Mart is Hannah Montana themed.
- Cinderella Figures: Why not?
This Saturday we took our loot down to the local Toys R Us. They had some firemen there collecting and a bad ass antique firetruck from the ’40s. The fireman told me that the truck was still in 100% working condition, though it would have to be the apocalypse before they actually used it. Being a nerd, I automatically constructed a Michael Bay movie in my head staring Bruce Willis where he’s saving the world on an old firetruck.
Remember to enter the big contest if you donate to Toys For Tots this year!

Paul… I don’t want to alarm you but… something is growing on your face. I’m gonna say uhhh… Micronaut villian Baron Karza attempting to take over your face in order to “Rock it off” but I digress.
