Super Powered Cup Holding
Super Powers was one of the greatest toy lines of the 80s that doesn’t get as much play as the big lines like Transformers and G.I. Joe. One aspect of the line that jogged a strange sort of memory was these Burger King cup holders. I had the Batman one, which is very strange since we almost never ate at Burger King. I can’t say for certain, but that very cup holder may have played a big part in a subsequent Batman mania that swept over me in my younger years. Hot damn, I couldn’t get enough of Batman back then. It’s funny how some of these fanboy obsessions of youth stick with you and others don’t.
I also remember using the Batman cup holder as a means of illustrating the differences in costume between the comic version of the character and the new (at that time) version of Batman seen in the ‘89 flick to my understanding, yet most likely, indifferent mother. It’s strange the things you remember. I can’t remember what my wife’s eye color is, but I remember holding this dumb piece of plastic up to my Mom pointing out that this Batman had a gray and blue color scheme.
Oh yeah, one more thing. Batman’s hands never really fit on the cup that well. For some reason they weren’t wide enough to fit in the peg holes. That’s another useless memory I have. Fantastic.

Wife: What color are my eyes honey?
Paul: *squints* This doesn’t involve a number and letter combination now does it?
