Superman Returns With a New Figure Wave

Not gay. No sir, this is not gay at all.

Remember that scene in Superman: Returns where Superman had that huge fist fight with Metallo that ended with Superman throwing Metallo into the sun? No? Well, that’s the kind of thing I wanted to see, but instead everyone was treated to a bunch of Christ figure imagery.

There’s a new wave of Superman: Returns wave of figures coming out that includes a couple of villains that only appeared in the Superman movie in my mind. Metallo, Mongul, and a Kryptonite powered Lex Luthor show up to battle against the man in red underwear. Metallo and Mongul never appeared in the movie, of course, but they did appear in the huge piece of crap Superman: Returns videogame.

I can’t get over the fact that there will more Superman: Returns figures. Every time I see the Returns section at Toys R Us, I wonder if they’ve even sold a single figure. Does anyone buy these things or am I just crazy?

    My daughter has the silver space suit Supes, and one where he changes into Clark Kent. So, I can attest to the fact that at least two figures were sold.

    Well, that just proves that someone is getting these things! I sort of liked that clark and jor-el Toys R Us 2 pack.

    Paul, re: the videogame, it’s craptacular….even Superman didn’t like it….Superman Returns The Videogame.
