TAtTF: Robostrux Blew Kid Minds

This toy commercial was fairly recently linked to on the Wizard Universe message boards and I couldn’t pass up putting it into a post.
Holy crap, it looks like the kids in this ad for Robostrux have seen the epitome of human achievement and may either A. kill themselves because there is nothing yet to live for or B. ascend to a higher level in the evolutionary cycle.
Robostrux are actually a remake of a Japanese toy line called Zoids and my only contact with the things when I was a kid was a set of the things that a friend of mine had picked up at a rummage sale that was missing a lot of stuff. The dinos we could assemble where amazing and I couldn’t believe, even at the time, that I had missed out on such an awesome toy. I still can’t believe that Robostrux didn’t take off better than they did. I mean, robotic dinosaurs that actually move under their own power? What’s not to like!?
Zoids had a brief resurgence here in the states a few years ago, only to disappear from toy shelves once again. Hopefully they will return again someday. Robotic dinosaurs rule. Oh yeah, in case you’re interested they recently released a Zoids video game for the Xbox 360 that was ported from Japan. If you lower your expectations a bit and enjoy it for what it is, I’m told by my local Zoids expert Shawn that it’s a pretty decent game. And by that I mean it’s got some PS2 era graphics and horrid cutscenes, but it’s a friggen Zoids game from Japan! Be happy and buy it, damn it!

I had a few of the Zoids they released a few years ago… They were very cool too. But Gundams will always have the biggest place in my heart, so I almost always ignored the dinos for other robots.
I actually recgonize the T-Rex from the cartoon too. That thing was badass

Didn’t you buy a Wink?
I got my second head in the mail today; just wondering if other folks have gotten theirs.
Does the original head just pop off, do you know? I’m hesitant to assume that, naturally.
