TAtTF: The Defiant, One Big Motha Vehicle

When you think big G.I. Joe vehicles, the USS Flagg immediately springs to mind, but there doesn’t seem to be enough love for the Defiant launch complex:
Holy crap, that thing looks big enough to crush one of those kids. It took two kids to even lift the flying bits up. Now that’s the kind of toy I could get excited about, especially since (if I’m watching this correctly) the toy will give you hallucinogenic experiences where you really think you’re flying the thing.
Why am I posting this? No reason aside from the fact that I realized I wanted one the other day. I know I’m poor, but if I save my pennies maybe some day I might be able to get a beat up one to call my own. A lad can dream can’t he?
Anyway, what is the greatest Joe play set in your opinion, any era? And if you pick the Flagg, you know that’s a cop out answer.

Wow, I had totally forgot about this one. I remember wanting one of these bad boys back in the day. Simply cuz it was so damn huge and all the kids in the neighborhood would be incredibly jealous and think you have all the luck in the luck in the world and would line up just to play with it, and you’d just say forget it.

G.I.Joe Headquarters. Close second to the oil-rig looking thing.

“Close second to the oil-rig looking thing.”
That’s the tactical battleplatform. And damn do I love that set.

Terror Drome - it was more reasonably sized than the Flagg or Defiant (which meant you actually had a chance of getting one), but was still loaded with tons of playability…

I thought the red plane that came with the TerrorDrome was pretty damned cool.

Whatever you do, don’t buy a Defiant online without getting pics of how it will ship. I bought one and they just threw it in the box fully assembled. When it arrived, over 20% of it was completely destroyed. And the Defiant is not a fun set to complete.

I’ve still got my Defiant Complex and it’s still awesome! Best playset ever!
