The Coolest Batman Toy You’ll Never Own
Check out these photos of Batman and his Batmobile (a.k.a. Tumbler) from the films Batman Begins and The Dark Knight for a minute:
Looks like a cool Batman figure and a highly detailed Batmobile right? How’s about I blow your freaking mind? That Batman is 1/6th scale, meaning he’s roughly twelve inches tall. That Batmobile from Hot Toys of Japan is fugging huge. Since the item is produced for the overseas markets, the only way you can get one of your very own over here is by selling your soul to the devil or pre-ordering it on Big Bad Toy Store for the low, low price of 589.99. Yeah, that’s dollars. It’s interesting to note that the Big Bad Toy Store practically apologizes for the high price of the Batmobile. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen that.
In addition to a price tag that would likely cause divorce and bankruptcy, the Batmobile/Tumbler has working light up headlights, a cockpit that slides up and down, and movable breaking flaps. I’m sure that it also has turning wheels and the ability to grant wishes as well.
This Batmobile is like the icing on the cake of awesome for the 1/6th scale. It’s just the coolest thing that I’ll never, ever own. Hell, I’d be surprised if I ever saw this in person. If any of you are going to get this let me know, I’d like to have your babies. This toy really is poop your pants awesome.
Oh yeah, if you’re wondering… they make the Batcycle (a.k.a. Bat-Pod) too, for the bargain price of around three hundred bucks.

I’m proud to own the 5″ scale Tumbler that was released by Mattel back in 2005 when Batman Begins was in theaters. It is THE coolest Batmobile toy I’ve owned, surpassing even the animated batmobile in sheer awesomeness.

That’s some crazy shit. Here I thought the 3.75″ is already taxing enough on my wallet.

hey Paul, i read that DC Direct will be getting Hot Toys TDK stuff in. Hopefully that translates to better prices for these items.

Thanks for the info shaun, I knew you might have more of an insight. Still, if the new big Millennium Falcon here costs 130 retail, I wouldn’t hold out hope that a high end piece of this size would be very affordable.
