The Lego Dropship with AT-OT Sauce
Wow, this set is something I’d never see from Lego as an official release. It’s the Lego Gunship/Dropship complete with a AT-OT Walker:

What’s interesting about this is that there have been a few fan made Lego creations of the dropship already floating around the internet. In fact, reader XeQUae designed his own and I featured it on this very site way back in the day. The main difference between these fan based creations and the actual thing are that you can buy the Lego version in the store (duh) and it looks there are handles built into the gunship for the gripping action needed to lift an AT-TE, or in this case an AT-OT.

The set commands a whopping 250 bucks, which is about what I expected. A gunship alone costs over a hundred bucks and this one comes with the AT-OT.
Aside from the huge cost, I have any kind of desire to get the AT-OT. The thing is one of the dumbest designs for a troop carrier in sci-fi, what with it being so exposed at the top and all. The upside is that the set comes with six clone trooper mini-figs and two pilots. That’s a lot of mini-figs that would otherwise fetch a good price on the secondary market.
If you are Mister Money Bags and want one of your own, you can head over to the official Lego online shop and pre-order it now.

The dropship is pretty cool, but the AT-OT is pretty lame. Too bad they just didn’t release the dropship to go along with the already released AT-TE.

The dropship… is the sex. I’m still trying to find a decently priced Clone Wars style Republic Gunship for my dad’s birthday.

I love dropships and gunships, I really do. Sometimes I feel like the only one who can’t wait for the “cobra dropship” from the new Joe movie.
